Resident Evil 4 Remake: Castle Courtyard Puzzle Solution
Once you reach the Castle Courtyard with Ashley you're going to be faced with a maze that contains three towers. Each tower relates to a set of flags and you'll need to raise all three sets in order to unlock the door at the centre of the area and proceed on your mission.
The first tower that you can access is right at the beginning of the maze, so you should be able to jump up into it straight away, the other two are separated off to the left and right of the maze, so you can slowly investigate in both directions and then retreat to the centre when you've got each one.
The main thing to look out for here as you creep through the maze is that it's full of rather angry dogs and a few Ganados. These foes don't take too many shots to put down but you'll need to be on your guard with the dogs especially as they tend to spring out of nowhere.
You'll also happen upon a cage full of mutts on both the left and right sides of the maze as you progress forward, the doors on these cages give way and release the hounds as you approach so we recommend a flash grenade from distance then rush the location to finish them off easily. Again they don't take a lot of ammo to put them down so as long as you see them coming you should have little issue.
In the two maps below we've pinpointed where the left and right towers are.
It's a relatively simple objective to get to all three levers you need to activate all the flags and open the central door but, as you approach the left side tower, be aware that you will need to direct Ashley to hold onto a nearby lever on the far side of a gate with a golden emblem in order to open up the path to the tower.
Once all three levers have been pulled, head back to the centre area and prepare to be ambushed by a few enemies as you retreat up the steps and into the next area. Whether you decide to shoot these foes or not is your choice but you can just leg it here and save your ammo if you so wish.
Finally, we should note that there is also a Clockwork Castellan in this area, you'll find it on the left side of the maze, hidden in a dead end beside some other items.
