I know people online have been clamouring for more advertising on this game, but I feel we've already seen enough. It's reported to be quite short (that's a good think imho) but it means I don't want to have all the best bits spoiled. Looking forward to playing it, but won't watch the trailer.
Just finished the 1st one last night. I am ready.
@themightyant Ninja Theory have put a few video's out this week - meet the cast (4 videos), The Story so far and Senuas Psychosis Feature (23mins).
Its not a long game, but as its not really gearing up for 'sales' as the majority will likely play on Game Pass, its not a 'Physical' release with some 'limited edition Steelbook version' for example. It doesn't really need a 'long' marketing cycle to drum up Hype to maximise pre-orders to get an idea of how many copies to manufacture/distribute in time, its digital only.
They can also let their 'Game Pass' Community and Critical reviews to 'market' the game/game pass subscriptions. Those with Game Pass will no doubt use 'word of mouth' to get more people to try Hellblade or get Game Pass to play Hellblade if they enjoy it and if it reviews well, more may be tempted to try it 'free' on Game Pass or buy it...
I might give it a download just to see the visuals since they do look like some of the best this generation.
That said, I’m more excited to finally play Starfield (now that there’s 60fps, good HDR, maps, etc.) and try Lords of the Fallen. But I’m keeping an eye out for Hellblade reviews and will try it out most likely.
Can’t wait for tomorrow to play this
Apparently, its 6 hours long
When do reviews drop
@PsBoxSwitchOwner 9am BST on Tuesday (we'll have a review to share here at Pure Xbox).
@FraserG thanks for that.
Thought they would do reviews today.
I get it’s a niche title but for a first party release you would think they’d want to get impressions out, as I do believe it will review well
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I like to go into a game or movie relatively cold, so I prefer no reviews before I get my hands on it. At least, no reviews or opinions I do it not choose to view. The click-fiends put opinions in their article titles and scores on the thumbnails so you can read them accidentally.
The reviews around the Starfield launch were vexing. The premium package granted 5-day early access, and these jerks decided flood the internet with review articles hours before that advanced activation went live.
@theduckofdeath obviously reviews are different for people’s preferences. But a well reviewed game a week/few days in advance can help to build up interest. (Especially since it’s a more niche title)
You would hardly know this game releases day 1 on Gamepass tomorrow there has been such little marketing.
