@Krzzystuff cool I'll have to check it out. I wanted the other game as well but it wasn't on sale so I'll just wait until then. I've heard this one is good and hilarious so I'm looking forward to playing it. Have you played Trover Saves the Universe? It was written by the co-creator of Rick and Morty, heard that one is pretty funny as well but haven't played it myself.
I watched a person on YouTube play L.A. Noire yesterday and I have no idea why it's taken me this long but I'm really interested in playing this game now. It just looks so good and playing as a detective in a realistic open world is very compelling to me. I just feel like I need to play this game right now, lol. So I ordered a copy of it on Xbox One for €20 seeing as how PS3/360 copies apparently had issues with overheating the systems and the interrogation mechanics were less clear in those versions. Hopefully I get to play this game soon since it looks really interesting!
@MAC26 no I've never heard of that game. The crude jokes in stick of truth are great, there's one bedroom scene that's just freaking amazing. You'll know when you get there. Enjoy
So.... I wasn't planning on buckling/caving in under the whole Black Friday pressure thing, but guess what? Some stuff is just too good or too cheap to miss out on, so yeah, I eventually did cave in...
Current tally:
MudRunner (Xbox One)
MudRunner American Wilds (Xbox One)
Metro Redux bundle (Xbox One)
Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition (Xbox One)
Far Cry Primal (Xbox One)
SoulCalibur VI (Xbox One)
ScreamRide (Xbox One)
Mars: War Logs (Xbox 360)
Fight Night Champion (Xbox 360)
Panzer Dragoon Orta (OG Xbox)

Rather lackluster Black Friday sales here, but I did see Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on Xbox One for roughly €28, which is pretty good considering this game rarely goes down in price. So I decided to order a copy. It's been a while since I've played a Souls game so this will be interesting.
Not specifically Xbox, but I bought and watched my first 4K movie on the Xbox one X tonight! Alita Battle Angel, I mainly bought it because it has the 4K and the 3D blu rays included and was down to a reasonable price in black Friday (11.99). Brilliant film though! My monitor doesn't have HDR so I missed out on that but oh well, maybe one day in the future!
Yesterday I bought 3D Ultra Minigolf. Probably the best golf game I ever bought or got. Despite being 10 years old, the game is quite fun and not showing its age.
I’ve purchased much less games since getting a Game Pass subscription this summer, but I picked up a few games in the recent digital sales.
I got:
Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle
Blasphemous
Control: Ultimate Edition
Dark Souls Remastered
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen
Just Cause 4: Complete Edition
Micetopia
Resident Evil 3 Remake
The Witcher 2 (must’ve missed claiming it when it was GWG)
I was also planning on getting Watch Dogs Legion, but decided to wait a bit longer, since it apparently still has that save bug. Also, it might go cheaper in the christmas/new years sales.
Since I have Game Pass been getting and trying a bunch of different games.
Still I bought a few such as NAMCO MUSEUM ARCHIVES Vol 1. I already had Vol. 2 which i bought almost exclusively to play super Xevious . Plus the other games seemed to be a better choice then Vol 1. But i was wrong, Vol 1 Xevious much better game and all the others also more fun.
Also got for free Fragile Equilibrium which turned out to be a top notch shoot em up.
I contemplated getting some Splinter Cell games and Watch Dogs 2 on sale but decided to wait on those as those frequently go on sale. Instead I opted for South Park Stick of Truth, Silent Hill collection, and I plan on also buying Metal Gear collection, Borderlands 3, Bioshock collection, Hitman 2, Witcher 2, Far Cry 4, and possibly some others. I also stocked up on Game Pass so I'm good for a very long time. Thanks for taking my money Xbox!
@Mac26 bit of a late reply to this but South park is a wicked game, I'm still yet to play the second one though! Do you have any used game shops or use eBay over there? I find the splinter cells are a lot cheaper as physical copies here in the UK. I've definitely considered the BC MGS games despite owning most of them at least twice on other consoles just for the Xbox one X enhancements!
@ralphdibny Such a great movie! I was afraid that they would have screwed it up like so many live action adaptations of Anime series. However this one they got right which made me really happy.

@Tasuki I feel like I've seen a few good adaptations like alita and speed Racer which are pretty good but I haven't seen the animes. The only live action films I've watched where I've also seen the anime are Dragonball and Fullmetal alchemist. The latter is OK but I think I'm pretty much going to love FMA related to be honest. I haven't watched Dragonball evolution since it came out though and I don't remember it being very good lol
@ralphdibny yea there are a few Gamestop stores near me but I honestly haven't stepped foot in one in a very long time. Most of my purchases from the past few years have been digitally. I don't use ebay, i just find it very sketchy. I will make a few more purchases I'm sure today before the Xbox sale ends.
@MAC26 fair enough! To be honest digital prices are pretty good in the sales anyway. Stuff where there is higher demand for the physical item like the MGS HD collection is a lot cheaper to buy digitally, but copies of splinter cell are ten a penny over here but the saving from buying physical is still only a couple of quid
@ralphdibny Alita is a hard anime to find, The only place I ever saw it as a physical copy was back in the early nineties, I want to say like 93/94 and that was a VHS copy at my local Blockbuster which I rented and actually got me into Japanese Anime particularly Chose and Steampunk Anime. I have watched it several times afterwards but those were from some shady websites they most recently being about the time Alita came to theaters.
I did see Speed Racer both the Anime and Live Action and it was alright not as close as Alita. I haven't seen Dragon Ball Evolution or Full Metal. I saw the trailers and was like nope. I might be a bit shallow here but with Full Metal the Asian cast just threw me off. Yes I know it was made in Asia but FMA just always gave me that early 20th Century European feel with it's characters and art style and seeing Edward as and Asian just ruined it for me. It just made me feel like a bunch of cosplayers got together or something.
Besides Alita and Speed Racer I also saw Initial D both Anime and Live Action and I liked the Anime much more. The Live Action changed the some of the story elements and seemed more like a knock off Fast and the Furious movie the Initial D which I think they were going for. I honestly enjoyed Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift more the the Initial D Live Action Movie if that says anything about it.

@Tasuki I completely agree about the FMA setting and it's one of things that attracts me to that particular show because it's kind of an alternate european history with the vintage pseudo chemistry that actually works in the world of the show. (Obviously I stayed with it for the absolutely haunting storyline that still has a glimmer of hope for the characters). I really think a decent and "marketable" (in movie exec speak) western film could be made out of that show.
I wonder if the reaction to the supposed white washing of anime films like ghost in the shell (which is actually another I've seen and liked) is why they went fully Asian with some of the Netflix adaptations. I haven't seen the adaptations or original series of most of them so I can't comment but for FMA it is definitely weird to not kind of follow the setting of the show.
I'm not really against either method of adapting anime or foreign language films in general, if it's trash either way I wouldn't watch it more than once. I need to watch the dub of the live action FMA actually as I only watched it subbed before. All of the TV shows cast is credited if I Google it so I am curious as to whether they actually used the cartoon cast for the dub of the film. That would be pretty cool in some ways.
I remember briefly playing an initial D game on game boy advance back in the day actually! I don't think I've seen the show though
@ralphdibny I can understand people's complaints about White Washing some anime but FMA was never depicted as an Asian setting. I can see the complaints for Dragonball for example or even if they did a Live Action Naruto and used and all non Asian cast.
Dang all this talk now of FMA makes me want to watch it again lol.

It's a legitimate concern for sure if it's a direct translation, but many adaptations take more liberties than just the characters' ethnicities. I know there are additional political arguments to be made for and against regarding representation in cinema.
But yeah for sure with Dragonball, though when I watched it as a kid I really had no idea they were supposed to be Asian because it was shown in English with American accents on Cartoon Network! I think all the other references just went over my head
Was Mafia Trilogy good by the way? I ordered it recently (seeing as we are in the Xbox purchase thread) but I did read that there were major issues and bugs with 1+2. How was your experience, did it get patched by the time you played it?
@ralphdibny By the time I got around to playing them I didn't notice any problems, I also played them on PS4. Mafia was the far better experience considering that the original is almost 20 years old. The second one though the only reason I see getting is either you only have a PS4 or don't own the DLC. If you have an Xbox you can probably find the 360 version of Mafia II far cheaper or may already have it, if that's the case you can skip the DE as it is backwards compatible.
