It's doable, even if you are rubbish at riposting. You just have to try a few times (took me about 50 but I'm rubbish). You can get to the next area WITHOUT beating him. Go through Heides tower of flame. Beat the Dragonrider with a bow from range and go through his area into the next. Beat the boss and catch the boat. You will meet him again. In NG+ he is around every corner.
@sorethumbed I'm going to persevere with hitting him and dodging or trying to use the easy way off the YouTube video. I want to get the souls off him. I WILL beat him!
@sorethumbed Thanks for that! I was on a roll and i beat the dragonrider(?) in the same life and I've levelled up about 12 ish times so I'm mid 40's now.
@Red620Ti I found that out when I tried to help someone else have a go. The boss is very quick and has a wide hit range.
@sorethumbed Should've asked the other day, how do you find the hidden stuff? (I can't see any mention on the guides, unless I'm looking in the wrong place (highly possible )) I found the way to the Bastille and a set of armour but couldn't find anything else.
After you beat the pursuer, go through the door then there's s couple of dropdowns. Google Drangleic Set (armour, sword, shield). The boss in the lost Bastille is actually 3 😀😀 so be sure to survive the first one. Remember, you are invulnerable whilst rolling.
@sorethumbed@Red620Ti anyone else - could anybody help me out with a bit of co op on DS2 to take down the first boss in Iron something or other. Big ass bull type bloke that sets himself on fire and has MASSIVE defence.
Get up close and dodge roll his swipes. There are a couple of good videos showing how to do it. I reckon that he is easier solo. If you have summons, he gets more health.
If you must summon, use the npc but there isn't really any hiding room there.
So... this has appeared in the Black Friday sale for a whisker over £20 and I'm tempted... but I'm a Dark Souls virgin. Have heard all the horror stories comparing these games to self flagellation and so on, next to no checkpoints, lose everything when you die... but also hear many people raving about them. Are they really that bad? I'm not the most patient gamer in the world and I'm a button masher when it comes to fighting games... am I likely to be able to enjoy it?
I really like it too. I must admit that I've come to a particularly difficult part and can't seem to best the boss. It does seem a little easier than DS. My 'normal' game type is Halo/shooters with things like Forza in there too. I'd recommend it.
@Red620Ti@sorethumbed You still playing this? If you are would you want to give me a hand with a boss? I'm currently in the second part of the Iron Keep (the boss after the one I was talking about above) with a level 120 ish melee and soul memory of about 1.3 million.
