I've been playing this a lot, I'm absolutely loving it. I couldn't get on with the first, and failed to kill Fiery Spider Lady or whatever she was called. This one seems a bit gentler, ideal for a disgusting casual like me. Theres even a tutorial, almost!
I'm hoping we can swap strategies, builds, weapon tips and even help each other out.. So far I've killed 4 bosses and now I'm quite stuck at 3 giant Knight things.
So far, I've done 2 bosses, dragon rider and the circle faced giant. Dodged the pursuer for the moment as I was focussing on getting faith/int both up to 20. Heide' tower is no longer nice.
I played the first Dark Souls for a bit and got so angry with it that I haven't tried the second one...
I'd like to see you take Bloodborne for a spin. I have a feeling you'd turn into the Hulk. I've been there a couple times now.
I was planning to buy DSII on Tuesday when it released, but I just don't have the time to work it into my schedule yet. Hopefully soon. Now that I've spent a decent amount of time with Bloodborne, I'm super curious to see what the Souls series is all about.
2 more bosses down, the 3 giant knights nearly made me snap my pad until I hit upon the strategy: Hit them, but don't let them hit you! After that it was simples!
Bit disappointed by the Lost sinner, it went down with nary a protest! Spent all its time battering the phantom I'd brought with me, so constant strafe and smack worked great! I really like my Flame Sword + 5 now, and the back stab animation is just brutal! Think I'm Lvl 59 now, trying to get enough ATN to get my girl able to use spells...

Yup, they certainly kick ass, thought you were getting a bit confident πππ. In NG+ it's a challenge just getting to them because of all the griefers trying to level up their covenant allegiance. They are a bit easier if you got the Drangleic shield after beating the Pursuer (100% block). If you didn't, go back and get it. (Look it up on Internet as impossible to describe how to get it). It also has some good armor (a bit heavy) so no good for my squishy. I'm trying to play without a shield but either things have got faster or ive got slower! (Probably both lol).
You go to the main menu and start a new game. πππ otherwise you need to find a soul vessel, bring back to the firekeepers (the old ladies at the beginning) and it allows you to reallocate your points).
I'm playing shieldless generally, double handing my sword. Locking on seems a bit haphazard, keeps jumping between enemies when I don't want it to..Any tips?

Met some Skeleton Lords last night. They aren't too bad, but when they died about eleventy million skeletons jumped out and had angry sex with my character.
And I broke my favourite flame sword and now don't have the souls to fix it... FML

Leave the right stick alone when locked on. If you move it, you will change targets. As regards to the sword, you should have some 'souls' in your inventory marked 'soul of a ......' Use them like any other consumable, instant souls. Otherwise, go back to an area you've cleared less than 10 times and farm some more. If you go back to the starter area, you can do this with your fists lol.
thats not really how it works, far as I remember. There is no co-op as such, just summoning whoever has left a mark. For the sentry kills, stay up the top as long as you can. Roll just before he tries to hit you. Have a few practice goes at the first one to get the roll timing down before you go human, they have big arms, people often roll at the wrong time. Once you have the timing down and can nail the first without taking damage, Revert to human and get a summon, it will make it easier. It is one of the games tougher fights.
I got this last week and have put in about an hour and a half so far. Just got to the first level up lady and joined up with the blue something or other covenant. Came across a couple of giant dudes, one with a sword and the other with a HUGE mace. It didn't end well with the mace guy! Sword guy is easy peasy though.
