I think so many people were expecting a rollercoaster ride like Uncharted. I just like that there is a game with a different way of handling the genre than what we already have. I love Uncharted a lot, but not all adventure games need to be like that. So I'm glad MachineGames went for this direction instead of something more derivative.
I haven't played the game yet (short on time always), just looking forward to playing it a lot.

@Banjo- Don't feel bad about it. This was bound to happen sooner or later with them. People should learn handling people with different opinions before going on the internet. The same thing happened on Push Square too yesterday, hope they take some time for reflection and learn from it.

@Herculean I don't know what you mean exactly, but I don't feel bad about anything 😁. Like I said in my comments, it's natural to disagree and not like games. I don't like all games either. However, if they literally don't like anything on Xbox, it's time to move on and play on the other consoles that they say give them what they want! As simple as that. No need for all this drama. 😊

@Banjo- Fair play. Free time is precious, no one should spend that on something they don't enjoy. It's how I dropped quite a few hobbies over the years for that reason, so I can spend that time on stuff I do like. Unfortunately right now there isn't even enough time to play all the games I want, so Indy will have to wait until somewhere 2025, probably.

I do enjoy reading people's expressions on them! 🌞

@Herculean I agree. I posted some tips on top of my opinion. I thought that maybe some people were having trouble during the first hours. You are right, this is not a rollercoaster ride. No scripted gameplay nor automatic progression either. This is more demanding and more rewarding. I'm glad that you're enjoying reading the opinions. 😊

So I'm still really enjoying the pace and quality of the game and story. I own two GSD so don't take this the wrong way but the guard dogs are the only thing I have been tempted to shoot

@VisitingComet1 I don't take it the wrong way because I like dogs and I posted something similar when I started playing. They're very aggressive, but you can scare them with the whip. They stay docile after that and may even leave the area. I'm glad that you're enjoying your adventure.

The game is full of culture. Loving Gizeh as well. It's like being there.

@VisitingComet1 Also, in the Vatican you can use the Blackshirt uniform to masquerade as a soldier. In Gizeh there is the Digsite outfit. Some people and captains are able to see through your masquerade, but they are still very useful.

I’m about to beat Indiana Jones. I absolutely loved the game. With that said, I’m kind of bummed out because two achievements are bugged for me, stopping me from getting all 1000/1000 points. I hope there will be patches in the future to remedy this.

So can you not ride motorcycles? Everytime I see one I'm just praying I can tap 'X'

Just finished the game and I REALLY REALLY liked it... for the most part. Exploration was awesome, immersion was immaculate, story was engaging, and the voice acting was perfect. However, the combat was complete and total garbage. Like, so bad I can't believe they shipped the game in this state. Enemy AI is attracious, gunplay feels non-existent since you basically die in one hit, and the excuses for "boss fights" were increrdibly jank. It's a shame because I really love so much about this game and how different it feels from many other triple A games, but the combat drops it a couple points for me. I would've legit given it a 9.5 or 10, but because of the problems, I'm gonna drop it to an 8 instead. Still awesome, but man was it frustrating as heck sometimes.

Played a few more hours today and completed a few side quests in the Vatican. Right now I am trying to find the black shirt disguise. I manged to get the camera and I have been having a ton of fun with that. More often then not I use it as a spyglass to plan out my movements or watch guards. Still really enjoying this game.

Finished Indiana Jones and the Great Circle yesterday after roughly 30 hours of playtime. Absolutely phenomenal game and my second favourite game of the year after Persona 3: Reload. It was just such an engrossing experience from start to finish. It felt like experiencing an original movie, but most importantly, it played like what you would expect for an Indiana Jones game. Captivating story, well-crafted characters, a multitude of locations to visit and explore, tons of puzzles to solve and thrilling combat.

I just want to stress how brilliant the puzzles were. I basically never had any problems with solving them, all the while I thought the game respected the player by giving us the necessary tools and then letting us figure out the puzzles with no assistance. The puzzles were never too easy or too hard, the difficulty was just about right for the vast majority of them. And it was satisfying as hell whenever you solved one. Words cannot express just how much I loved the puzzles in this game.

In contrast to other similar franchises, such as Uncharted, the Great Circle felt first and foremost like a game. Each level was like a sandbox where you were free to explore, tackle missions, collect stuff and basically have fun beating the crap out of the enemies. The levels were fairly large but they were still densely packed with content. There aren't too many of them, which made each one memorable. I can barely remember all the places you visit in an Uncharted game, but I will always remember the levels from the Great Circle as you spend so much time in each of them.

The combat is heavily reminiscent of the Condemned series, which I coincidentally experienced for the first time just a few months ago. It's in first-person, you find melee weapons everywhere in the levels, each one has a durability meter and you can also wield firearms. You can even use firearms as melee weapons, which I believe was also a thing in Condemned.

All in all, I had a blast playing through this game. It's the first time in a long time for me where a new release has actually offered some refreshing gameplay compared to most games these days.

Back with an update. I managed to find the giants Tomb and escaped that tonight. While exploring the Tomb I managed to find a few relics and some notes, finding the secrets is just so much fun. I also like how the story is progressing.

I'm still quite early in the game, but this is my gripe and I agree with this.

Otherwise I'm enjoying everything else about it. I'm going to try my best to push through because I don't want this to spoil an otherwise great game, but I guess time will tell on whether it has enough to keep me hooked and see it through.

So a quick question. Does anyone know if you are able to go back to a previous level to get collectibles and side quests you may have missed? Part of the reason I haven't moved on from the Vaticain is because I am afraid to continue the main story and then won't be able to get the side stuff I miss.

@Banjo- Ah ok thanks. I have yet to get the Blackshirt but I was afraid that if I leave I won't be able to come back. I know I can probably look it up, but I am trying to avoid spoilers.
