Double or Nothing was pretty good last night. My son and I went to a theater to watch and had alot of fun. I really liked the 4 Pillars match and thought it was done really well. Nice to see what the future of wrestling has to offer. The Anarchy in the Arena was another top match between The Elite and the BCC. And the surprise with the TBS Championship OMG. The only disappointing match was the Woman's title. With Jamie Hayter being injured it made sense so the belt isn't in Limbo like it was when Thunder Rosa was injured. I just hope Hayter is cleared for All In.
The tag match was another great match both FTR and Jarrett/Lethal put on a great show. The trios match was ok for a match with no build, not quite sure what they are doing with those titles but it was a decent enough match.
Overall a satisfying PPV, and it will be interesting to see where AEW goes now.

@Tasuki yeah it was wicked actually. I was really hoping the crowd was going to be more British in its chanting (like football style) and they didn't disappoint! The British crowds I've seen on YouTube clips of WWE are just so funny
I've never been to a big promotion show before and I think I was surprised at the lack of promos. They had a few pre recorded VTs with other footage edited in but no live or even pre recorded footage of wrestlers cutting a promo on eachother. That was kind of weird as it was something I remember from watching WWF on TV as a kid.
The only people who really got on the mic at all were The Acclaimed because it's their gimmick, MJF at the end because the concept of the title fight was weird and needed explanation I guess and also Tony Khan announcing All In 2024. Oh yeah Jeff Jarret cut a promo on the audience in the Zero Hour pre-show. But still, a lot less than I thought. Even Saraya had nothing to say which I thought was weird because it's her audience (but at least she had a good match and her family got involved)
I don't know if that's the norm but it doesn't look normal on TV because crowds react to promos so I assume they normally show them up on a screen? They didn't at Wembley. Having said that, I was sitting under the screen so I couldn't see it 😂 but I would have heard it at the very least. It would have helped contextualise the matches as well because obviously we don't get any commentary in the audience.
No official Bray tributes or Terry Funk tributes for that matter. There was a Fiend cosplayer on the pitch that was getting a lot of cheers but I'm pretty sure it was just an audience member. The crowd sang He's got the whole world in his hands a few times too.
@ralphdibny I noticed that when it comes to the PPV shows AEW doesnt do alot of promos during them, I guess that's because most storylines end at a PPV so maybe they don't have anything much to say.
I know when Dynamite came to my home town back in March they did promos then but it was the day after a PPV so.they were setting storylines up
Sounded like a blast otherwise.

@FraserG ahh I did mention it earlier in this thread, I kept an eye out for ya but it's a needle in the haystack with 80,000 people there 😅. Oh well, maybe next year!
@Tasuki ah fair enough, promos are my favourite part of wrestling!
I watched James Romero (the guy who does the story time with Dutch Mantell podcast and the WSI interviews on YouTube) do a review on it. Even though he said he wasn't Gona go! I'd say it's a fairly accurate review but even if the quality of some of the matches was a bit sub par/nonsensicle which is kinda to be expected, I think the event was amazing because of the crowd really. Something he does mention but doesn't focus on.
There was a lot of cheering for Osprey and Saraya which is to be expected. Sting and Big Show too. The main event with MJF was a comedy match so that was a lot of fun even if it wasn't like a hard hitting match. It was kind of a bit upside down really because the Punk/Joe match which was technically good was right at the beginning.
@FraserG ah cool, we were in the stands on the right of where your pic was taken (opposite end to the black tent in the left of your pic). Probably about similar height I'd say.
We did originally have seats up in the rafters but all the leftover seats got really cheap closer to the event so my mate bought some better seats the day before. Which I'm quite glad he did! I think next year, we are Gona wait to buy tickets until the day before again and see if the prices go down massively like they did this year.
I really liked those football style shirts you're wearing there lol (even though I don't like football 😅). I would have got one if the merch queues were much shorter. How much were they?? I spoke to someone in a drinks queue who bought a title belt, they paid 850 quid for it 😨
I was thinking of getting a scissor me daddy shirt from Amazon before the event but didn't because I figured it would have verrrrry limited use 😂. I don't think I could be bothered to spend years trying to explain it to people whenever I wore it out haha. As it stood I just wore the old Cactus Jack t shirt!
@ralphdibny Yeah, I think you did the right thing with the seats - those pics look fantastic!
You'd definitely get a few looks on the tube wearing a "Scissor Me Daddy" shirt 😂 The football shirt was £65 (ouch!) and it was definitely an impulse thing. I've never spent that kind of money on any event merch before...
But yeah, fun day! Great show and everyone was in good spirits, even when stuck in the massive crowds trying to get back to the tube station.
