There is way too much focus on drama and controversy among the Xbox brand, it's been attracting too many trolls, and this site has been really bad about allowing negative trolls to persist. This has resulted in this site simply having a really negative and argumentative atmosphere, which is a real turnoff.
This is nothing compared to Push Square you want to see a site that took a bad turn check out Push Square. You can't say anything negative at all.about Sony even if it's the truth. If you try too not only do you get insulted by the fanboys there but your posts get deleted by the staff and they don't do anything about posts insulting you. They have a hive mindset there and it's really toxic.

The thing is, we HAVE to go where the news and demand is, and unfortunately right now there's a lot of "drama" and "controversy" doing the rounds about ActiBlizz, Redfall, etc. It comes and goes in waves, and at the moment we're in a big wave.
This is unprecedented for us... the relaunched version of Pure Xbox has been in existence for three years, and for the most part we've had extremely positive news to report during that time, especially in 2020 and 2021.
As for your mention about trolls, it's not something I deal with directly, but I can assure you the comments section of this site is being monitored and moderated on a very regular basis.
A fake neutral PS user everybody knows about because he posts 50+ comments every day has become the most hypocritical and the biggest troll on PX that says one thing here and the opposite on PS, sides with other trolls to pester and insult other users, edits those comments and then reports Xbox fans when he triggers a reaction. He is a malicious user that has been called out by many users. I wish PX was more protective of the genuine users.
@BAMozzy I think what makes it the worst Push Square is it never use to be that way. I was over there alot during the PS4 lifespan at one point I was even a mod. But then the last year or so it got really bad there, community wise. And its really bad when the staff of all people jump in with the trolls and such, it reminds me of a pack of wolves.
The other day I was having a discuss with a few "users" over there nothing bad but we had a difference of opinion. You can see that the other users were trying to pull me into a full blown argument which I was doing my best to avoid being. Then at one point one user @ a few of the staff members to tell me how I was wrong. A few hours later the staff members came in and took the sides of the other users basically telling me how I was wrong and they were right with no concrete evidence at least with mine I had some.
It was at that point for my own mental health I decided I am done with Push Square, which as I said hurts me because of how much I enjoyed the site in the past, but it's definitely not the same. A big question for me anyway is why does the staff condone that kind of behavior now and what made it change for the worst.

@Banjo- I noticed that with the addition of the ignore feature the staff on all three sites have cut way back on modding. I don't know if it's a legal thing that they can't ban users anymore since it's a public website or they don't have enough staff or what. I noticed that alot of people who were mods in the past can't do much like lock threads anymore or ban users, they have one person I see doing that now and again, I am not sure if it's a legal thing. I have tried asking the staff that but they just ignore me or just say something generic like they will look into their mod practice and if they see it needs to be changed they will do so accordingly. But yeah since that ignore button it just seems that modding isn't a priority anymore.

@Tasuki Yeah - I notice that too. Can't say anything that contradicts Sony is Perfect or MS/Xbox is the Worst thing to happen to gaming ever! If you do, you may get Suspended or Banned. Sony are 'flawless' and anyone who disagrees is not welcome on that site, or at least openly 'attacked' for not sharing that viewpoint...
There are 'some' staff I know that aren't so blinkered or narrow minded, but its really escalated and become intolerably worse - basically since MS announced their intention to buy ABK and the very 'bias' Articles that Push Square are putting out since then - seems to be encouraging even more Sony diehard 'Fanboys'....
I don't click on much or 'engage' much on PS anymore - I've always felt their way of presenting news was extremely Bias and often not acknowledging the fact the majority release on 'other' platforms - which can be 'misleading' as it 'only coming to PS5' instead of 'not releasing on PS4' - its coming to PC, Steam and Series S/X too - so why not talk about it as a 'multi-platform release' because some people read the site for 'Gaming' news and to see Playstation 'specific' news (Exclusives, new update from their Studios etc) that may not get as much 'news' on a 'generic' gaming website. They may not necessarily play all the games on Playstation and for some, their Playstation is for 'Exclusives' because their PC plays 'everything' else 'better' than PS5 can offer.
I don't 'need' to engage over there, although I do sometimes try to add some 'balance', perspective and/or intelligence into it but its pointless trying to have a 'discussion' because that takes two opposing opinions and you can't have that there - at least in regards to Sony, Jim Ryan & anything Playstation
Even the Redfall developer comment has got insane amounts of comments - and I think she wasn't talking about fan comments but simply the fact that other developers had stuck the boot in.
That is definitely a new thing, as even a few news media even ran stories about how unusual it is developers joining in the console wars and attacking each other - ActiBlizz and Xbox fighting back this generation seems to have really triggered some fanboys in both the Sony-supporting media and developers.
It seems to have happened with the normal gaming fans too - when the news is good and Xbox is doing well, they leave us alone, when Xbox has bad news they love to come here and pile on.
And yes, it's made them pretty fanatical too - criticising PSVR2 or £70 games / remasters on PushSquare is accepted by the more calm members but produces absolute frothing mad rants from many...
@BAMozzy Right there with you. What's funny is they will blast Phil Spencer on doing something then like a week later Jim Ryan will do the same thing and it's all good. I point that out to them but then I am insulted and mocked or my posts gets deleted saying that it's flaming while theirs still stands. I don't have that problem here or Nintendo Life just Push Square. So that's where you basically will find me here or Nintendo Life. Time Extension isn't bad, but it's new so it's community isn't as developed yet.

@NintendoByNature I have the same experience as you (been here for about 2years now). As the community is smaller I feel like most people are friendly enough. But to be fair I don't dwell much in the comments of the articles about Activision or redfall, etc.
Drama, negativity and controversy have been around for years and you just dealt with it. I find it is the younger generation that just aren't strong enough to deal with it. God forbid should you have a difference of opinion also, some think you are deliberately trying to be controversial or argumentative. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.
I think it's not the sites themselves but more about the state of the platforms. I'd say Nintendo Life is the best of the 3 but they have the advantage because Nintendo's lineup is so packed, there's even a new Zelda game coming out in 2 days.
Push Square suffers from Sony's silence about games and whenever Jim Ryan appears it's always about CoD, live service in general or TV/movies. This situation and the fact the last showcase was in September 2021, Push Square isn't exactly a particularly positive place to be at times. It'll get better if a showcase happens and people can start getting excited about PS games again.
Pure Xbox suffers because Microsoft has massive problems. Even the end of January 2023 which was meant to be a very positive time for Xbox (Developer Direct, Hi-Fi Rush shadow drop, Goldeneye release, AoE 2 console release) was tainted by news such as the Xbox 360 marketplace delistings and Redfall being always online. I think the site will be in a better state if the EU blocks the Activision acquisition and the June showcase ends up being very good.
@Balta666 looks like redfall is NLs equivalent to pokemon. I want clarify though, that most on NL on great, its always just a minor few that spoil the experience.
@NintendoByNature for sure! I allways had a great time at NL but some topics get trolls up on their weapons... 2017 and switch haters was quite something
