It's time for the weekend! We've got plenty to be getting on with over the next few days, including three fantastic additions to Xbox Game Pass, a couple of impressive Free Play Days titles, and checking out the massive Xbox Lunar New Year Sale, along with all the other usual sales that are live this week.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I feel like Monster Hunter Rise is calling to me this weekend, especially as I never really managed to spend much time with Monster Hunter: World while it was part of Xbox Game Pass a couple of years ago. I don't really know all that much about the series, but our review here at Pure Xbox suggests it's definitely worth trying!
Elsewhere, I might play a bit of PGA Tour 2K23 in anticipation of EA Sports PGA Tour's release this March. All being well, we'll have two great golf games to enjoy this year, and I'll be spending plenty of time with both!
Have a great weekend, everyone.

After showing Fraser the cooking Palicos, I’d like to take full credit for his Monster Hunter Rise FOMO. That being said, I’m definitely going to give Monster Hunter Rise more of my time this weekend.
In addition to beast slaying, I’d say my main focus is to crack on with Cult Of The Lamb. After 100% completion of Death’s Door (which is fantastic by the way), I decided the satanic-woollen-cult experience would be my second game to fully achieve this year! Furthermore, I’m quite proud of the name I chose for my cult (“Ewe Flockers” - great innit?). If you think your cult’s name is better, I’d love to hear it.

I've got a busy weekend of gaming coming up I reckon! Over on the PlayStation side of things, I'm trucking through Ghost of Tsushima right now, after firing up the PS5 again recently to play through that indie kitty game everyone was talking about six months ago.
In terms of Xbox, I think I might give Tiny Tina's Wonderlands a proper go over the weekend. Gearbox's Borderlands spin-off is part of Xbox Free Play Days this weekend, and I've got it installed and ready to go! Now, we'll see if I can get through it all over the course of about two days...
Have a great weekend, folks!

This weekend, I'm planning to put my special Dead Space t-shirt and shorts and socks and limited edition underpants on to play the brand-new remake of Isaac Clarke's claustrophobic adventure until my eyes bleed and my hands fall o...what? Excuse me? It's not out yet? Damn.
Alright. I seem to have got a bit ahead of myself here, so eh...this weekend I'll just continue to tread water as I wait for Dead Space by getting on with my latest run of Elden Ring, a game I'm appreciating even more this time around - if that's even possible - and I'll also likely dip into Monster Hunter Rise to see what all the fuss is about. I mean, I've downloaded it already so it'd be a bit silly of me not to try it out, right? Man, I can't wait to rip the limbs off a bunch of necromorphs though, I'm really jonesing to shred some alien heads. Maybe I should play the original to tide me over.
Have a good weekend.
What Xbox games are you playing this weekend? Let us know down in the comments below.

On Series X, I’m having a great time with both Psychonauts 2 and PowerWash Simulator.
Over on PS5, meanwhile, I’m also playing The Last of Us Part I and kinda wishing there was a mod to change Joel’s face to Pedro Pascal (just kidding). I’m just over 15hrs in, so I can’t have too far to go now.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I'm playing Final Fantasy VII Remake. I must admit when I first started this game I did not like it at all, it does have a big learning curve. However the more I played the more I liked it.
Also playing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. This is also another decent game.
I'm also thinking of starting The Legend of Tianding on Game pass.
Honestly? I have no idea. I started The Great Ace Attorney 2 on PS4, so maybe that.
On Xbox... Hell, I have so many games to choose from. Probably a little My Hero One's Justice here and there and I want to start something short.
This weekend I’m mainly playing NieR: Automata on the Nintendo Switch. I originally played the game on the base PS4 when it first released, and the fact I can now play this game (strictly) in handheld is a miracle. I completed it once but didn’t do any subsequent play throughs, so I’m determined to do that this time around to get the full story of what is considered a masterpiece in the medium.
I’ll also be dabbling into Fire Emblem Engage. I bought it, but I’m still relatively hesitant on it overall. The story seems to be hit or miss for some, along with the characters, but the age-old motto is present: Gameplay is king, and Engage apparently has some of the best combat, if not the best, in the entire series. That said, I hope the story will grip me. Unfortunately, the thing that really sets me off from being completely invested is the character models and presentation — it looks way too mobile-y.
I also purchased Persona 3 Portable on the Nintendo Switch. P4G is one of my favorite games of all time, and P5R is just as good - but I’ve never played P3. I was thinking about playing the game via Xbox Game Pass, but I can’t pass up the convenience and portability. I’m looking forward to getting sucked into another masterful JRPG.
@Chaudy The Legend if TianDing is fantastic. I hope you have a good time with it!
Started playing Harvestella on the Switch after finally beating Persona 5 Royal but wasn’t in the mood TBH so I moved on to Super Mario 3D World which I almost beat already so I’ll be playing Bowser’s Fury after.
Might start Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7 or Horizon Forbidden West on my PS5 after.
I also still have High On Life left on the Xbox Series X.
I think I'll play monhun rise this night, and ghost song too 😃
I bought elden ring when it was on sale so I put time and efforts to play this game but I don't have fun playing this game right now, only frustration . No direction, obtuse story, hard to grasp contrôles, lots of missing info , had to watch some youtube guide to help me . I think this game is just not for me and I don't understand why it won so many goty awards.
Persona 5, already well over 100 hours in and going strong
Edit:大家新年快乐 🐰 Happy Chinese New year everybody
Just started spiderman remastered Friday so I'll be busy with that.
@The_Pixel_King There's only 1 Joel and it ain't Pedro Pascal.
Rayman Jungle Run (Windows Phone) - Still enjoying this in bursts.
Super Monkey Ball 2: Sakura Edition (Windows Phone) - Just starting this, but I do love me some monkey ball!
Age of Sparta (Windows Phone) - Really fell off with this one.
King of Fighters 15, Breakers Collection, and Monster Hunter Rise.
@hypnotoad I was kidding! 😂 I love the original Joel and Ellie.
I’m mostly playing Marvels Midnight Suns, and some GTA V (story mode, 3rd play through!). I’ve also got right back into Grid Legends, which has quite a sizeable single player career mode which I’m chipping away at. Will also give the Forspoken demo a go ahead of its PS5 release next week.
After playing through Quantum break last weekend I decided to pick up Control this weekend and so far can’t get enough of it. I’m also gradually working my way through High On Life, been a lot of exploring the world they’ve built which for me is probably the best part of the game
On my Switch I'm playing Skyward Sword HD.
Playing Skyrim Anniversary Ed on Survival Mode. I first just wanted to fool around a bit in the game last weekend after finishing Plague Tale Requiem, but not am immersed. This might eat a lot of my time going forward unless I force myself to drop the Survival Mode path. No quick travel means I got to basically run everywhere and that’s makes everything take soooo much longer!
Tried playing NG on Callisto Protocol but game breaking bug has taken away all my weapons - quite amazing they made a terrible game even worse! Makes me look more forward to Dead Space though.
The first Watch Dogs
@CrazyJF oww, how adorable 😊
I'm playing Monster Hunter Rise with a friend of mine, plus when I feel calm Murdered: Soul Suspect
Just beat Hellblade on SX. What a game and looking forward to the sequel.
Plan is to start on Judgement tonight, love yakuza series so this should be right up my alley.
Mostly stuff on switch:
Fire emblem engage
Chained Echoes
On the Xbox front, just playing around with GP titles:
Halo infinite
Need for speed heat
On my PC I've taken a break from Elden Ring as I'm getting my ass kicked by the bosses. Need to grind and level up to improve my chances.
On my Steam Deck: Tomb Raider 2013, Mortal Kombat 9 and Valkyria Chronicles 4.
I will play paper mario 64 on the NSO expansion pass and I'm having a blast with it.
On Xbox series s I will play Immortals fenyx rising, I'm halfway now. When I get bored of Immortals I will play persona 5 Royal. I'm almost done with the first palace.
Playing Monster Hunter World while I wait for Wild Hearts to release next month.
I wish I was playing Lego LOTR. I just found out it was relisted on Steam but no other Platforms, which sucks as it's backwards compatible on Xbox.
I was playing FIST Forged In Shadow Torch over the past week or so but I've dropped it for now in favor of Fire Emblem Engage which is amazing so far
I am on vacation, In the Southest city of the world, I have my Switch with Disco Elysium on it. Can't believe I have waited this much to play this masterpiece.
