Last month was stacked for Xbox Game Pass, with the likes of Forza Motorsport and Dead Space stealing the spotlight in terms of the big hitters, but another game that also arrived on Xbox Series X|S was Warhammer 40K: Darktide.
This is a release that had been hyped up for years, and although its PC Game Pass launch occured all the way back in 2022, it still felt like there was a lot of anticipation building towards its console debut on October 4th, 2023.
So, was it worth the wait?! In a recent Pure Xbox poll of October 2023's Xbox Game Pass titles, you told us that Warhammer wasn't even in your top five best additions of the month, getting just 6% of the vote overall.
Is there a real reason for that, or was it just that good of a month for Game Pass? We'd love to hear how you've been getting on with Warhammer 40K: Darktide in the comments down below, as well as in our poll.
What do you think of Warhammer 40K: Darktide on Xbox Game Pass? Tell us!

It's decent. Nowhere near as fun as Vermintide. Feels rather empty for some reason. But I don't think its bad.
I'm not sure if it is the case the whole way through but the missions are way too long.
I played to level 10 and it was a slog. I totally understand why people love the Warhammer universe but it's so depressing and not enjoyable to play in for me.
And I can do grim. I'm not over here playing Super Mario Wonder.
Just the setting and the mission length and the slow leveling was too much for me.
I honestly don't know. I've played a few rounds with friends and I just don't have a read if I like it or not.
Don't get me wrong the environments are fantastic looking, and I appreciate its trying to do story without forcing you do levels in a strict order.

Played it for a bit ,realised I had much better games to play ,so deleted it 2/10
I'm actually having a lot of fun playing Darktide. I have never played any of the Vermintide games, so I have nothing to compare it to but I am enjoying it. The small quantity of maps can be repetitive but the build variety makes playing the maps feel different from one character to another.
The game definitely captures the 40k atmosphere and tone and I'm excited to see what content comes out in the future. I would love a Skitarri class.
Who the hell gave this crap 10/10
Too late to the party, and I've heard it wasn't supported well. Pass...
Would be way better if you could run solo. I hate having to play with randoms online. Plus there's just way too many other games id rather spend my time on right now, if this came out last year it would be more appealing. Because of all that I probably won't put much time in it even though the game is fairly enjoyable and has a cool setting and visuals
@Mephisto2869 Lol, for real
I really like it, but I wouldn't give it 10/10, I went for 8.
Gorgeous settings and levels, really captures the 40K aesthetic nicely.
Too many other great games at the same time and Darktide requires more commitment than I have time for.
Will fire it up every now and again though as it's quite cathartic, especially when you've had a bad day.
Gameplay and visually stunning.
I feel its a bit unbalanced. Could do with an offline mode with ai controlled bots to help out on your team.
Vermintide is so much more fun.
I wanted to like it a lot more than I did. It was visually appealing bht ultimately I uninstalled it after a week.
@Mephisto2869 It's the kind of game you really need to have friends to get the most out of. You wouldn't understand.
@Jenkinss I dont really play online with my friends ,im not a petulant child ,I usually go the pub or have a few drinks and play mortal kombat,you wouldn't understand.
@Mephisto2869 doubt
It's got a ton of ugly post processing visual effects you can't turn off unfortunately.
There's volumetric fog EVERYWHERE. I get that it's "moody" and "atmospheric" but what's the point in all the amazing detailed levels and environments when you just fill the screen with a thick fog masking all the detail.
Depth of field, MSXAAAAA screen blur etc etc
The only graphical option is to turn off motion blur. That's it. A shame really. Cus it could be a nice looking game under all the visual noise.
Sucks. Should've been in third person
