I haven't finished the campaign yet (12 missions in). I have found it to be impressive but not the game that I was hoping for. It feels more like a marker for me so far for the Halo that is to come. For me, Halo has mostly been the 'you against the world' type of game and the fire team approach detracts from that for me. Also, the intimate relationship between the chief and Cortana was/is an essential element and the lack (mostly) of that in this game makes for less of a game for me. You don't really have anyone to relate to. For most of the game you are a dude in a fire team. Honestly, I couldn't give a damn about the character you play as. Having said all of that, it is a really well made game and is quite fun to play, I just feel that it should have been something else.
Again guys, a good read. Probably won't pick any of these up. Maybe 6 Siege but I wasn't really impressed by the Starwars Demo (no story etc) and I have enough MP games to be going on with. Hated the original Mirror's edge.
Eejit me! It's a 500 pointer. I was going to buy the bring it on one. But there's not much point in buying something you might only up use once in pvp.
Like the concept. Usually, with MW/Blops I whizz through and then go back and do the missions to achieve objectives like collectibles/challenges so doing that from the start won't be too big a change for me. Looking forward to it now (well I was anyway πΊ)
Good words guys. I've got Halo on preorder and will probably get the Division at some point. As regards Lara, still haven't played tomb raider apart from the start. Too many games you see. You guys guiding me back to destiny then not raiding hasn't helped πππ
Like I said before, next year in the vault. No campaign, no buy (for me). EA started this with Titanfall and they know how to suck out every penny they can.
Unfortunately, that's why most people were anti towards a solely digital solution, no competition. Most people will vote with their feet I expect. Back to disc for me for a while.
This may be fun to play and certainly has me intrigued. Far Cry though? They could have called it Assassins Creed primal as well. It bears the same degree of relevance to both IP's. Were they scared to give it a new name?
Whilst you can level up to 40 quickly, it is totally meaningless. It's still your light level that determines whether or not content is available to you (or indeed if you are in any shape to tackle it) and therein lies the rub (and the grind). You can be a lvl 40 character with completely useless weapons and armour and be totally useless in a strike (unless it's lvl26) as everything else is blocked off from you. There are actually LESS missions for you to do with the daily requiring light level 240 to tackle. You are stuck with running the lvl 26 strike trying to get your stuff up to scratch over and over again. Whilst it is strangely addictive, it is a grind fest.
Good (and fair) review. I've put a few hours into this over the last couple of days and am quite enjoying it. Max's accent wobbles a bit (not quite sure why he sounds like an Aussie Elvis on occasion) and sometimes the camera can get you killed in a confined space (lots of those). The driving needed a handbrake (for fast turning) as often there are multiple vehicles and the ability to turn faster would have been nice. All in all though, I'm glad I bought it.
I'll be grinding the gears on insane (finished normal) and trying to not get one shot by torque bows, trying out Mad Max and trying to level up my Dragonknight in ESO before the DLC drops.
I really like this app. I also like the fact that MS are listening and tweaking it on the go. It's another step towards the point whereby on a smart TV and Xbox app you could game anywhere in the house. That would make a serious amount of kit redundant in my house, 2 xboxes and the other Xbox one for starters...
As long as you can store movies and music on it as well, I won't mind. If you can't though, that's one external for games, one for TV tuner, one for PVR and one for music and video ( 4 into 3 don't go - branded USB hub anyone?) and that would not be cool. The boner and components would begin to look like a disassembled PC
So, are you now going to see all those players who locked others out desperate to find someone who actually knows how to play the game (instead of relying on the weapon) to play with?
This weekend I should finally finish the (triple) storyline for ESO and have hit VR10. Joined a couple of guilds (2 German and one British) so never short of a game although, in general. I still prefer solo play. Some of the dungeons are crazy difficult as veteran ones (two healers to heal two players) - Happy days.
I played 1 loads but really struggled to get into 2. Still not done much with it on the Xbox even. Β£40 is a bit steep (IMO) as both games hit around the Β£20 mark fairly soon after launch.
One was good, the storyline anyway. Gameplay was fun.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Seventy Two
So, I banged all three of my guardians up to lvl 34 in Destiny. Got a few exotics in the process. Mad Max keeps calling me back though and ESO.
