Re: Sony Still Seems Confident The Elder Scrolls VI Is Coming To PS5

Yeah, that's the one thing that put me on pause: realizing that half the stuff I play on XBOX ONE X are XBLA games from the 360 era. I'd be buying a PS5 to play some PS4 games or an Xbox series x to transfer my one x library. Neither of them work with my 8bitdo controllers; so all of them Metroidvanias and indies are going to be played on my Switch. :0

All things considered, I would imagine Microsoft would prioritise the PC version as a Windows exclusive before worrying about console exclusives. They make money from software, subscriptions, services and licenses. They lose money on Xboxes. I could see them doing a Game Pass exclusive move. That would possibly give them enough leverage to get Game Pass on Sony and Nintendo platforms. But, while Mr. Spencer is running things, I doubt it. He’s in tune with his customers and knows what kind of backlash that would bring.

@KelticDevil

It is a waste of money if they already have a top end gaming rig. Those new NVIDIA cards will be about the same price and if they already have the PC, bob’s your uncle.

The downsides you mentioned did ground me, however, and reminded me why I don’t have a “gaming pc”....I haven’t owned anything Windows based since the very early 90’s. And, actually,I take that back, no, it was DOS based and I used Windows, begrudgingly.

Apple is going downhill and not up, as of recent, and so I’ve been eyeballing the Linux variants. But good lord, I can’t imagine using Windows on my own volition.

EDIT: I lied, I did build a Windows PC to run Sound Forge back when Sonic Foundry existed.

I'm liking the Phil Spencer era of Microsoft Xbox. They see something succesful and they do the same. They see something unpopular and they don't do that. They ask what the consumer would want and they immediately offer it up in spades. Their games development end may get picked on, but they're offering up Ori, Cuphead and Senua; all which appeal to me more than what Sony and Nintendo offer ('cept Zelda and HZD). And to make matters better, Microsoft be like, "What's that brah? You don't have an XBOX? Ok, well, here we'll bring you, the consumer, our dope stuff on Switch and Playstation."

Re: Retailer Listing Possibly Hints At Xbox One S Console Revision

@Richnj

Microsoft can afford to take a major loss per console sold and is prepared to undercut Sony as soon as Sony announces a price. Sony is well aware of this and may well have considered doing the same in response. Thus, we have a price standoff. $600 seems much higher than their manufacturing costs; and they're planning on taking a hit. I won't be surprised if one of them is at least as low as $400.
