They don't want to throw away the sales ABK are currently making on PlayStation platforms, but by offering COD included on GP they're going to make it less appealing for gamers to choose PlayStation. It's the perfect plan for Microsoft.
From a consumer perspective it could be a good thing if it levels the playing-field with Sony. On the other hand it might end-up like what happened when Setanta/ESPN/BT Sport won the rights to a sub-set of Premier League games - which meant needing to subscribe to MORE services, costing consumers more.
@Xenomorph_79 I feel exactly the same. I really want to enjoy these games but I don’t have gamer friends and playing with random players I find to be quite stressful!
I think sometimes it's easy to be underwhelmed by 70% of the games because they're not to one's tastes, but when you reflect and count up how many games you WERE excited by you realise how great the line-up is. For example I had totally forgotten about Psychonaughts 2, and I think it looks excellent.
Without Forza Horizon 5 I'd probably say a 'C'. But FH5 looks amazing and has a very reasonable launch date as well! I get fatigued by all the stuff that's far-far out. Much more exciting are the July and August dates for upcoming games.
@Oval_Griffin yeah I don’t doubt that re. the overall fidelity, I guess I was just referring to the lack of a120Hz mode for Series S not being that important
As a Series-S owner (first Xbox after 25 years of Playstation) I really don't mind. I bought the Series S because I have a really nice 1080p TV that doesn't need to be replaced any time soon, and as far as I'm aware there aren't (m)any 120Hz capable sets at that lower resolution. And if you do own a 4K 120Hz I'd perhaps wager that you care enough to spend the extra money for an X?
@MAC26 Haha, thanks! I'm excited about what's to come, but also diving into the whole back catalogue. I've never played Gears, Halo, and I've only driven half a race on Forza Motorsport 2 way back when!
In fact it's Forza, GamePass and the incredible value offered by the Xbox S that really sealed it for me. I just grabbed Horizon 3 and the two add-on DLC packs before it gets delisted next week, now I just have to wait!
Yes! I managed to secure an Xbox Series S at Argos this morning!
This will be my first ever XBox having only owned PlayStations for the past 23 years. In fact I have owned every PlayStation except the PlayStation classic and not even touched Nintendo since the Gameboy, so quite the change for me this time around!
