Great month of releases. Really want to play Mass Effect again, and really liked the Switch Demo of DQB2 I played (will be a great one to stick on with the little ones)…… but Biomutant wins. Just the vibe of it really leans into something I’d get LOST in, and it’s a new IP, and lord knows we need all of them we can get….

@TheFrenchiestFry Agreed - Good to see it happening, and now some proper testing on what works and doesn't work with it. (I've been solidly dating Spiritfarer for two weeks now, so I've no clue where the hell I am with other games!)

I would say GamePass in some form on Switch, maybe MS offering to help Nintendo with their online services, in conjunction to GamePass being made available for XBox 1st party and ‘certain’ third party titles (ie titles that the Switch would have no chance of running)… no indies, nothing that has a chance to be ported.

Just finished Deliver Us the Moon myself, and really enjoyed it! A little more than your standard walking simulator. Engaging story. Off this week, could give it the time…

Mako improvements are a huge plus ... now it's a day one.

Once you can get on, and pass that early badly written exposition, it’s good fun. Need to go have a chat with the sensitivity for aiming, but other than that happy out for the minute…

@OliverOwen agree to disagree, but I’m certainly not talking a massive change of pace, and I’m absolutely down with the hub world concept. I’m actually thinking a Lego Undercover open world piece ( be it one that changes as things move along) could suit a Skywalker game….and still encourage 100 percenting

Lego Games are my go to for distraction and calm. Huge backlog of games means I’m happy to wait… hoping for a bit of reinvention on the formula, but will be a day one.

If you're first fix is longer, line by line, that your credits, there's probably more holistic issues you need to be looking at..... One day I will boot it back up again, but it may certainly be this time next year before I do. Series X upgrade needs to be running smooth before I engage again....

Just started Yakuza 0 - having a blast. It's everything I think I've ever wanted from an open world RPG action game - showing the lifestyle and sexism for what it is, with some proper 'comeuppances' . Also, I do love a game where I can build a little empire....

@BlueOcean completely agree with ya. With all the culture issues that Ubi have had seemingly (not that they are the only company with those issues), could see there being more plusses than minuses to being with MS.

Price increase is coming - one way or the other. In Europe it's currently 12.99 a month, and I can see MS trying to do the deal with Ubi to get all of U+ (including day and date releases) for €15 / $15 a month. Ubi probably resisting as that's a bit of a crapfest for their current subscribers, but can't imagine there are too many of those considering how expensive they have it.

As a dude with kids, and one glorious morning off a week to get a few hours to myself, getting xcloud on my ipad will be a wonder.

Slightly left field comment for here, but the query came across my brain… with all of these game studios now at Xbox’s behest, is there a industry trend for some cross assistance (more in line of lending staff to QA/get games out the door on time/sooner). Again, not necessarily thinking this is a good idea (hold the damn things until they are ready, and all that), but it would seem that not every studio would be in the ‘last 6 months of developer’ phase, and could lend some bodies late stage, as opposed to tech etc in the early phase.

Can’t even get Fallout 76 to work at the moment, so will look forward to doing so when that happens….

I would think yes, as with Oblivion being Xbox exclusive originally , I would think that Elder Scrolls as a series going forward (Skyrim on) was probably and still is a game by game thing, and not ' we'll release ES games on you platform for the next 10 years for this deal'

@PhhhCough Now that's an idea. NES/SNES games on Xbox, in a curated area like the Nintendo Online piece, could be VERY good for Nintendo and Microsoft.

@elpardo1984 I get ya, but if MS could supply Ninty with a big slice of decent online infrastructure, something Nintendo have never been good at, I think it may grease the wheel. That and some of those million-dollar bags of cashola they seem to have lying around the place...

Game Pass on Switch?? Guys over on Kinda Funny Xcast were all about a Kojima/Konami/Metal Gear Reunion over the weekend, but I hadn't seen the picture - surely the Switch is a big old piece of bait........

@gollumb82 yep… a lot of ‘smaller’, less visually intensive games that I keep bypassing once I get in front of the tv are gonna get got… looking at you WarGroove!

@Dezzy I'm very interested in some of those too. But agree that the remaster greed from publishers may hamper it's progression...

Good Price point, as I was looking for something for after hours when the kids are asleep, but also that can shoot between phone/pc/work pc for calls/work etc... Have MS any track record on sound devices? Never bought into the inhouse stuff before....

Person makes valid point, but (inadvertently) ***** on others as they do so. The story of the Internet. But hey, I'm glad a rant brings it to light - the industry is rapidly running towards constant disappointment, as the expectations they set are too high, and we are all too eager to buy into it.

Would have thought Scott Pilgrim was a shoe in for XGP but at least it’s getting released this month... would love to see Mass Effect Trilogy remaster alright, and the Ultimate Edition of Control.

A list of title currently with caches would be a no-brainier, I’d imagine... with a oldest gets ejected next or some kind of queue enabled and visible

@gollumb82 similar vintage man; Commodore 64 Light Fantastic Pack was my first time, after I saw a mate playing Head over Heels on his Vic20. Here and it's Nintendo sister site are a pleasant home away from the madness !

The speed of it alone garners a great review. Moving in and out of the Store, around the menus, some of the short cuts (the trigger one from the top of the pop menu to the bottom is a damn joy!....... I've not been out much )

Woo! Off to download Brutal Legend and Forza now. I'll be lost in them for the weekend....

Pretty well signposted cost structure for us board lurkers, but the average mom/pop may get a land if they get a Series S and then 3 months later little jenny/jimmy is looking for one of these.

@Octane Microsoft using their LARGE bank accounts to take a dive on the cost and sell a lot of Game Pass off the back of the S. Plus, with the move to a very similar naming convention as phones, and the All Access month by month sales plans, I'd say we'll see a 'new' version of the S a lot sooner than usual

I think it'll be 499, and that's with Microsoft taking a bath on the price. When the original reports of not making profits on it came around, everyone thought that meant it'd be ridiculously cheap, and this proves that's not the case. I think it'll come in at 499 with MS making a loss on the Series X, and the S will be 300 - 350, and they'll break even or make a bit of profit on that.

I love Game Pass, but I really see this as Microsoft's long game of sales bumps for external studios...

Jeff's appearances on Nate the Hate's webcasts has been some of the more informative and well thought out rumour mill conversations I've listened to over the past few years..... Also, I'd so play the three of these again....

Ubi realizing they need some good news stories out in the world - giving things away next to nothing is a way to get folks playing their games (I'm looking at you all the Far Cry's I've not played on the XBox yet....)

Ok. Obviously things can be edited etc, but that little black band doesn't leave a LOT of room for "X BOX Series S" to be written...
