Well I've not played The Witcher 2 (played 1 but 2 wouldn't work on PC) yet "own" it from when it was previously free with Games with Gold so I'll play that. Other than that only thing of interest is Space Giraffe and that's only because I haven't really played a Minter game for a while. I'm sure the internet is going to lose their sh!t over this as the updates are getting smaller and smaller each month.
@A_BabyRed_Yoshi Yeah I'm struggling with it to be honest. However I have hit some more interesting story beats in the last couple of hours of play that have piqued my courisity however. I can kind of tell where things are going and know I'll end up disappointed.
@Gamer83 hmmm so I think a lot of the marketing campaign was deliberate misdirection to knock people off the scent. It hinted at a personal story between Locke and Chief and instead we got a different personal story with Locke's pursuit (along with everything else) as a backdrop to that story. As for the 3 missions were simply walking...I get it to label them missions was a bit stupid but I get what they were trying to do, a lot of recent games have had genuinely great quiet walking moments in recent years (Uncharted 2's snowy mountain village for example) but Halo's lets run through this environment just to talk to people didn't really work to be honest. I'm also not sure about Master Chief being interesting to be honest...he is a man in a mask who we never see...it was his relationship with Contana that made him interesting not the rest of that team.
@KelticDevil @Gamer83 Isn't part of the issue with the story that it's the middle part of a trilogy that's kind of following the Empire Strikes Back mould?
@stylon ok done some research via reddit and people are posting they are preordering at amazon. Getting access code registering it on website then getting alpha code immediately, final stage is people are even cancelling preorder after all of that.
@stylon So when I preordered mine I was sent a code to register on the division website and then was emailed this new code to redeem the alpha as a result of that. I checked Amazon's website now and it says;
"GUARANTEED BETA ACCESS - Pre-Order your copy of Tom Clancy's The Division for guaranteed Beta access. Beta starts in early 2016."
So perhaps the alpha is only for existing preorders as originally that exclusive beta was meant to be running now...
@Gamer83 How long would you pay Battlefield for? It's not much more expensive for year of EA Access. Or monthly is only $5.
@freaksloan It still will be Major Nelson's blog post says the following "New weekend deals will be announced on November 27, with huge savings on games like Witcher 3, Rare Replay, Destiny: The Taken King and more. Check back then for an update"
@stylon true but the "something special" was never an official announcement it was just a reply to a random question on twitter, people should have tempered their expectations accordingly. If it truely was something special they would have made an actual announcement.
@BAMozzy Have you ever been in a early beta program before? This is essentially what the Preview Program is and Microsoft are very upfront with this. You had to opt in specifically they made everyone aware of the known issues going in to that first update, they had a robust reporting system both on consoles and via their forums and dealt with a number of issues at an astonishingly fast rate.
People need to temper their expectations of what a this kind of preview really is. Game devs are all too keen to release near on finished products as beta and it's simply erroneous and has created an environment where people expect everything to just work and this isn't the reality.
In terms of feeling like your owed something for the hassle again your really not. Windows Insider members didn't get anything for all their work on Windows 10, Apple have run public trials of OS for ages and don't give kick backs, other than perhaps purchasing at an early bird price Steam Early Access players don't typically get anything for free when a game finally releases fully. So to summarize think before you join a preview program in the future and remember you can always opt back out.
@CrazyOtto They were delisted from the Japanese store only as far as I understood, the links are still taking to product.
@Red620Ti I think its more a case of them fitting in which titles they could get the approval for/those that run properly vs picking over others. Games will come in time Burnout Paradise is confirmed but not on the list so there is certainly more to come.
@A_BabyRed_Yoshi Basically its a yearly charity drive to raise money by playing games non-stop for 24 hours. Extra-life.org has all the details, millions of people around the world do it and its a hell of a lot of fun!
I'm hoping for Dark Souls. I've read rumours it would be on the service not sure about straight from start though. I started it on PS3 but find the old dualshock so hard to use I'd rather just play on 360!
I think this makes good use of the extra screen. @MegaKillScreen would it make for a good game for Extra Life? I'm gonna have that point where I hit a wall and my thumbs won't work properly this would be perfect!
@BAMozzy I'm with you has been an extremely frustrating experience and I wasn't in the first wave who had the very buggy version. Even getting them to recognize new errors on the preview reviews is annoying as there are things wrong that don't seem to be on their known issue lists.
Same thing happened with the end of Metal Gear 5. People on random popular twitch channels literally writing 3 words that blow apart the whole of the end of that game. Very sad indeed that people think its funny to do such things.
@A_BabyRed_Yoshi I had one for a week ended up taking it back. The good points fair outweighed the bad. Now I'm back to an Android as a personal phone and we just got iphones at work.
@SuperKMx how much time do you put into Ulitmate Team usually? It's basically the only mode I play. I'd be keen to get some online play going if your down!
@VoodooTrumpet Whilst it doesn't look great I still think it could be fun....I think Microsoft are in this odd position now where publishers are picking up games that might otherwise have been part of Xbox Indie Games and now are selling for a lot more as ID@Xbox games.
@Red620Ti How did you purchase The Taken King out of interest? I was looking digitally and it seems the only way to get it is to buy a bundle that contains the original game as well...I didn't buy the other DLC so I think this may be locking out the stand alone downloadable version of The Taken King.
@A_BabyRed_Yoshi have to agree. I slogged through Destiny and finished it's "story" so to speak and felt completely flat, its actual shooting mechanics are so solid but I have no interest in the grind/
my enthusiasm for this somewhat died when the stand alone games price rose to $119.99 to account for adapter...Amazon even went to the lengths of delisting the original listing of $69.99 to avoid having to preorder price guarantee.

Re: Gamerscore Leaderboard, Hideable Ready-To-Install Games and More Coming to Xbox One Preview Today
The pins stuff is the best no more using smartglass for it and it's always been laughable that they weren't accessible offline.

So there is no way to just subscribe to this app? If there was I'd be all over it and using some VPN magic to access it.

Re: Microsoft Edge Browser Coming to Xbox One
