@LoquaciousB It's incredibly narrow minded. You'd have to be blind not see what Microsoft has been doing since the middle of the last generation. They are buying up a numerous amount of varied studios and they are all busy making games. Making games takes time, and those planted trees are about to bare fruit. Sony has not been doing the same, they have done the opposite. Their once diverse portfolio of studios and IPs have all been boiled down into over the shoulder third person action adventure games, and whatever Gran Turismo has become. They have no swords in the fire for this generation they have blew their load.
@BaldBelper78 You are also thinking very narrow minded. Yes Playstation might be outselling them, but one could argue Microsoft has a much more exciting end of 2023 and 2024 than Sony. What are three major titles coming out next to PS5? The only one I can even think about is Spider-Man 2 and it's nowhere near as big of a deal as the next IP from Bethesda.
@InterceptorAlpha @BaldBelper78 These are not vinyl wraps like DBrand or the various ones you can find on Amazon. These are high quality fabric, embossed wraps that have fun details for your favorite game (games moving forward hopefully) that are easily attached to the console, and removeable. I pre-ordered my Starfield one and look forward to future releases also getting this attention
@Bobobiwan You literally in your post explained why buying it physically is not worth it. It has little to none of the game on the disc. So you are just prolonging the inevitable. This will be the last console generation with physical media
@somnambulance Starfield looks like if Fallout and No Mans Sky had a baby. So yes there are games on the market to compare it to on the market. That being said I am still very excited to play it
@Enigk Spider-Man 2 may not be as big as some are thinking it will be. I don't think it will sell as well as Starfield, Mario or Zelda. Spider-Man 2 needs to show off gameplay that doesn't make it look like another Spider-Man 1 expansion
@GeeEssEff
It does apply here as well but instead of releasing a game on half it's intended targets they will simply add a feature hardly anyone uses later
Here's a thought, maybe Microsoft simply wants to sell more Xboxes and Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. Co-op does not facilitate that want and desire.
Here's another thought:
Maybe use your cloud service you have building up. The Xbox Series X can do split screen natively from the system but if you select this option it goes to a cloud version and you can play split screen on the S that way
Starfield if you bought the $31 Premium Edition upgrade is available on August 31st. I am looking forward to it. My Daughters are looking forward to Party Animals, and I am too because I am tired of playing Gang Beats lol
@Dan1283 Celeste and Broforce may not cost $70 but many, many $70 released just this year alone had no business costing $70. Price of a game does not equate to the direct value of Gamepass. Good games do
I am so confused by the choice of developer on this one. The company is called Question and they've only made two other games. The Blackout Club and The Magic Circle. The Blackout Club looks strikingly similar to this new South Park game and it feels like it may just be an asset flip. This has to be f2p for me to even bother looking at it
@Mauzuri The biggest problem Sony has done is they have boiled down all their exclusives into 3rd person action adventure games. They use to have a much deeper well of creativity and licenses. But they have taken games like God of War and fundamentally changed what it was for the worse. Sony needs to not acquire like minded studios like Square Enix they need to find some really creative Indie studios who can breath life into their catalog again.
@Krysus
I highly doubt Rockstar will splurge for the entire game and DLC to be on a single Switch card. This announcement was dumped on YouTube and not as a full wow moment during a Nintendo Direct. So expect the bare minimum
I hope Microsoft puts the whole series on Ice for a couple years, I want them to go several years in between releases and make games that matter. This annualized garbage isn't worth anyone's time
The Port for Nintendo at least has been confirmed to not have the online multiplayer of the original game. So another reason I am happy to not be tricked out of $50 of my hard earned money on the Xbox
I am cautiously optimistic. Bethesda has made some recent colossal mistakes and my rise tinted glasses have since been taken off towards Skyrim and Fallout 4. The involvement of ID makes me excited for Starfield, so much so that I bought the headset and controller
Seems silly to develop a brand new game, knowing you will be bringing it to console to then not develop said game in a way that it can be scalable easily to account for the Xbox Series S
@Kevw2006 I would have rather they either said nothing or said and showed everything. I would love to see a video of the game running on the S and what issues its having. They didn't say what exactly the issues if it's some dropped frames from 60 to 45 fps then who cares.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I would like more transparency. Show us it running in split screen on the series S and struggling. I feel like it's a bunch of bull, explain how this game is so much more resource intensive than Diablo 4?
After watching gameplay videos of BG3 I'm even more confused. Am I missing something? The cutscenes look nice but the game likes like BG1, BG2 and the Diablo Series. So I fail to see why this can't run easily on the Xbox Series S
Here's a quick solution: why not release a streaming only version for Xbox Series S? Then release it native for every other console. Once you have the Series S version available let people choose to upgrade?
@Jenkinss Here are the minimum system requirements for BG3: System: Windows 10 64-bit. Processor: Intel I5 4690 / AMD FX 8350. Memory: 8 GB RAM. Graphics: Nvidia GTX 970 / RX 480 (4GB+ of VRAM) DirectX: Version 11. Storage: 150 GB available space. Other: SSD required.
So this game can run on a potato of a computer but not on the Xbox Series S?
@BBB It's not my fault if you comment on an article before reading it. So I guess the website I'll show you is this one on this exact article. If Doom Eternal can run on a Switch, this can be easily ruining on the Xbox Series S. It just requires a good development studio to put a little effort in.
@BBB They have announced the Xbox version they've been quite vocal about it's delay and the Xbox Series S version. You can't call yourself an independent studio when one is the largest gaming companies owns 30% of you
@BBB Tecent has a 30% share of Larian Studios, the developers of this game. Trust me Tecent can fund the Xbox Series version easily. So again it's just the developers being lazy
@Jenkinss The Xbox Series S uses the same processor as the Series X, has 6 gb less of Ram which it runs with less than 16 gb of RAM on the PC and it's video ram is less than the Series X. It can run Diablo 4 and multiple other next gen games in split screen no problem. It can be done it's just lazy developers being lazy
Games much more technically intense than Baldur's Gate 3 have launched with no issues on the Xbox Series S. It a simple matter of lowering graphical output, turning down some other settings. This is the equivalent of not releasing on PC because the Steam Deck will run the game less than stellar.
If they really cared about not showing favoritism they would delay the launch on all consoles, including Playstation
@Ssoltek Yes an Xbox has a couple companies that sell 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB SSD expansion cards. You act like only Sony PS5s can have their storage expanded. Look up Xbox Direct Storage. It solves any issues this lazy developer would have had
@Ssoltek You can not play PlayStation 5 games off an external hardrive. You can play PlayStation 4 games off an external hardrive just like you can play Xbox One games off an external hardrive
