I really wanted Boom Ball to be great, not just good. Kinect 2.0 should be able to provide better experiences than it's predecessor, given that the tech is completely different. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case.
"I was the first dude with a gamertag!" - best resume ever.
Phillip has been serving us well since the X1 launch, I think that if these departures had anything to do with Microsoft's practices they'd have happened all at once, more than a year ago.
Yeah he did like it overall and that was pre-release... I'm attempting to assemble the team's opinion on this one as I'd love a "weaner" game to help me break my Mario Golf addiction, it's bad. My family is planning an intervention.
What did you think of Flockers Stylon? (btw spellcheck wants to make that stallion... badass) I loved Lemmings as a kid but need a few more trusted opinions... the price seems right!
@stylon Ken wrote the review and I know he had some qualms with the game at full price, let me see if I can get him to answer this one. I'm wondering myself in fact.
@CunningSmile I think he'll make an awesome Powerman as well, he really does have the physique and trademark smooth shaven head/badass-but-not-bad feel of Mr. Cage. He's starting in "A.K.A" on Netflix but the deal is currently for four Marvel-Netflix shows and only Daredevil has been announced beyond this? Maybe a show of his own, maybe an Avengers appearance... my inner fanboy is all a twitter.
@EternalDragonX They aren't longer, as @SuperKMx just said... the endpoint of the line we will call the joysticks rests slightly higher. So you're working with the same length of stick yet they appear to be longer. They DO feel different of course, and personal preference always comes down to the feel.
@TylerTreese That's pretty much what I think of these things, if I wanted to buy every peripheral that may make my FPS game sharper, I'd play on PC? Unless you suffer from sweaty palms as I do, then rubber grips are quite helpful... what a contradiction I've just made.
@Beechbone If you think of it as a vertical line connected to a plane (physics guy explanation), the longer that line is, the more liberty you have to up sensitivity. I can really see these helping players who bump the highest sensitivity levels (like myself). Since I play FPS on consoles so as to be doing so on a level field, I wouldn't personally use them.
What great deals! I don't even know where to start downloading. The Wolf Among Us for sure, TT's Walking Dead 1+2 Bundle on X1 as well. I personally recommend that everyone snag the Alien: Isolation deal.
@Emanouel imho it's just a race to see who can prop up the best experience using VR, I really do hope this comes THIS gen, just so that Mic stays relevant and starts experimenting with VR+Kinect 2.0 games. My big brother is a Windowsaholic and works in new tech (they make drones though), last week he introduced me to Oculus+Windows Kinect (they're working on piloting the drones via VR) and a few internal demos that blew me away!
@CunningSmile I believe that if you've even loaded up and opened the games main menu before the 19th, this should apply. How it'll roll out is a bit of a mystery.
Our Stick It To The Man review by Anthony shows that to be a worthy buy, especially at this price. I've personally enjoyed it greatly (a Double Fine vibe exists). That one has my stamp of approval.
@EternalDragonX 5 is a "from the ground up" current (yeah, I said current!) generation effort, everything up to 5 may make DLC, and everything WILL launch from a unified place being the Halo Channel. There is no way that Guardians will be a part of the MCC, for about eleven years.
ODST really changed things up for the first time story wise, playing not as a 9 foot tall super-soldier but a normal human was an interesting take.
@DRL I'm glad to hear that this is free for a certain group of players, opening up the road to paid MCC additions and eventually Reach as such. ODST uses the same framework as Halo 3, while Reach has its own engine. That's the one reason I see for Reach to take some time in making its way to the MCC without encroaching on the Guardians release.
@hydeks Damn, as a young and wild little child I lived in Oakland, East Palo Alto, and downtown San Francisco. My Sega Genesis got stolen (along with many other things that didn't matter to me at that time) I had just bought Vectorman with my birthday cashola. To this day, I have NOT beat Vectorman! (#buyHEADagenesis+vectorman)
@Emanouel I can imagine the busyness! Apologies that we've not gamed in some time E-Man, I'll get in contact and right that wrong soon.
@JaredJ I'm rocking it as we speak, throw your head in the air and say "Mau, Ha Ha Ha!" for shiny new consoles! I'm glad that you're enjoying the XB1! Favorite game so far?
@PeTitosaurus Testify! SUPERHOT looks, super hot? Am I the only one anticipating the sticky-tongue action of Goat Sim?
Clearly, my choice was Guardians... that's a given, but the roster for 2015 looks like it'll be amazingly painful on my wallet, luckily it's made from a very masochistic cow.
3D doesn't bother me at all, maybe I stared at one too many of those pop-out images as a kid? This excites me greatly, I actually commented to the team that "I really hope VR becomes a thing on Xbox this generation" about two days ago after having a go with Samsung's VR set (we're going to start calling this segment "3 Wishes: Justin Gieni Predicts Things").
Honestly I can see Kinect 2.0 and VR working VERY well together, imagine GTA where your hands were... your hands! The problems that I see, as the Cap mentioned, is the lack of reference within your space combined with NO plausible method of moving forward less Microsoft embraces a controller/Kinect hybrid as the standard. None of us, are buying an omni-directional treadmill controller.
@hydeks @sinalefa Thanks! I've had my eye on the U bundles for some time now, with a birthday ten days from X-mas I'd always pool gifts as a young one. I'd usually get the "new" console and my big brother would ask for games, so it feels very right to snag a console at this time of year for me.
Now I just need to decide on an amiibo!
What kind of degenerate steals a WiiU? Sorry to hear that hydeks.
Since it's been nearly a full four years since Guardian of Light, I do believe that I'll get a friend or two over and get my Osiris on. Between intermittent Destiny raids and the like, of course.
Lesnar is looking a little smaller than when he débuted, dude has sickeningly big trapesial muscles (neck-shoulder), that flex was once his wrestling calling card. I've never watched a full UFC fight but wouldn't mind seeing him actually kick someone's arse.
I may have to get me some Far Cry 4 in this case! I remember building absolute bonkers levels in 2 and facing off locally with my little brother, fun times!
We had one organized for Halo:MCC upon launch, that didn't go well (as none of us could play online).
If the interest is here for MCC get togethers I'll re-start a thread and oversee that it happens. We just need enough players and a time/day that most of us are available.
There are differences in free to play standards! Your average candy crush may be CRAP, but Warframe is a prime example of how to do it right, and match the quality of oh say Destiny? A game budgeted at 500 Milly!
I reviewed Warframe, I don't see how anyone into that genre could dislike it this much and not see the amazing mechanics it brought to the game of games in both it's play, and in it's adaptation of the F2P model.
In my own opinion iOS has besmirched the F2P model, and many games like Warframe suffer because of this.
Sounds like you're finding your niche! The plasma pistol only gets more powerful as you go, it's deadly once you're ready for online combat! It's also great for stopping vehicles in their tracks.
The last few chapters are a thrill. For Halo 2 I'd say stick with Normal, play the first level and see what you think. Also if precision is the issue, grab a Needler, or two, whenever possible! The combination of a plasma pistol draining the more intense enemies shields, then a quick switch to a rifle for the finisher is extremely effective as well.

At this point we have NO reason to believe that this will in fact be F2P, nor that it'll employ the same grind heavy mechanics, that should be noted.
