Pure Xbox Game Club March 2025: Road 96

The game for March 2025 is Road 96, which is a narrative adventure game that we've thoroughly enjoyed our time with so far! It's available on Xbox One, Series X, Series S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

If you're interested in what kind of discussion goes on, here's what a couple of contributors had to say about the most recent Pure Xbox Game Club title - Ninja Gaiden 2 Black:

"Rolled credits on Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. I definitely preferred it to NG1. The game remained a lot easier than I was expecting, I hardly died and always had healing items on hand. That infamous staircase was a lot of fun as I equipped the flails for crowd control and racked up several huge combos, the largest 200+ hits chaining charged ultimate's with dodges and shuriken's to keep the combo going. A lot of fun.

That said I don't think the whole game is all that memorable. Even the morning after not a lot is sticking in my mind, it's a super stylish hack and slash, and I enjoyed it while it lasted, but that's about it."

"I really struggled to get into Ninja Gaiden 2, I only got to the end of chapter 3 and gave up. The game felt dated for me with the fixed camera and was too heavily reliant on button mashing, maybe that was me not being good enough to string combos together but I didn't gel with the combat in the way I did with games like Bayonetta or DMC."
