There have been concerns about whether Rockstar can deliver Grand Theft Auto 6 this year, but according to its parent company Take-Two, it really is arriving this Fall 2025.
This information comes from the company's latest financial earnings update, with Take-Two Interactive Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick mentioning how it will slot in alongside games like Mafia: The Old Country and Borderlands 4.
"Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4."
Take-Two Interactive also previously confirmed an Xbox Series X|S release for 'Fall 2025' in May of last year.
This latest update follows some news at the end of last month suggesting the frame-rate target for GTA 6 consoles would likely be 30FPS. Take-Two also isn't worried about getting the game up and running on Xbox Series S.

I still don’t believe this will release this year, I reckon it will be delayed to next year. We still haven’t even got the second trailer, over a year after the first one.
Hopefully we still get it this year!! Looking forward to mafia old country aswell I love the original two games the less said about the 3rd the better i still can't bring myself to finish they game such a disappointment!
Totally forgot about Mafia. Hopefully it does better than Mafia 3. I'm not totally convinced that GTA 6 will hit 2025 though. Rockstar are notorious for delays.
I wonder what happens to GTA Online. Will it be wiped? Updated? Sequel? They're pretty greedy so probs the latter.
Based on thier history and the fact they are perfectionists, I think this will be a 2026 launch. Of course the CEO is going to tell investors that the game is on track for the latest possible time in 2025.
If we don't get a release date by summer it's 2026.
If I was them I would release GTA6 after April 1st 2026 to boost that financial year.
As 2025 has the other three games in the previous financial year.

It’ll be a relief once they reveal the release date, as then it’ll allow other games to decide on their release dates. We currently have a big void in the second half of 2025 as everyone is too scared to commit to a date and risk being overshadowed by the truly ginormous GTA marketing machine.
@jFug these people see “wokeness” everywhere because they want to stay in a closed off little safe zone. There are lists rating retro games on their “wokeness” level.
There’s no way this is coming out in 2025. Can’t tell that to any other publishers tho, so we still have a gaping hole for like May onward since no one will announce anything.
Sometimes I wonder if GTA is even a net positive for the industry anymore. Meanwhile rockstar is too focused on their online cash cow mode to even do expansion packs. Or games.
Being honest, I’d be surprised if this was released this year also. Don’t get me wrong, I would love for it be to this year but right now I can’t see it even with their assurances.
