Take-Two has confirmed today that Grand Theft Auto VI will officially be heading to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with PS5), and the release window is currently set as the "Fall of Calendar 2025".
The news was announced as part of an earnings report in which the Fall 2025 target was mentioned a couple of times:
"As we enter Fiscal 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to deliver Net Bookings of $5.55 to $5.65 billion. Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games' previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI. We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase."
Before today, all we knew was that GTA 6 was slated for a 2025 release, so the Fall 2025 reveal and the confirmed Xbox Series X|S and PS5 platforms are brand-new information. Interestingly, there's no mention of a PC release for GTA 6 in the report, which suggests that the PC version will follow at some point after the console launch.
Now that the GTA 6 window has been announced, we wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Xbox, PlayStation and many other big publishers trying to avoid Fall 2025 for their big games... nobody wants to compete with GTA after all!

Expected. Cool. 🙂👍
Bring it on. Should be a cracker.
I'll never understand the hype and sales this series gets, but at least a few Xboxs will sell. Saved for another quarter 😂
I still doubt that this will release next year, I can see it being delayed to 2026. If it does release in Fall 2025, I would be very surprised.
This game is going to crush all games coming out next to it and after. We are talking over a decade in the making. Fan’s might even jump off COD and Fortnite to play this. PS5 Pro was build with it in mind is still my opinion. Sony has some marketing deal with it i just know it.
@NEStalgia not a GTA fan eh?
Cool, I guess.
Honestly, I don’t see the appeal anymore.
I guess when you finally grow up, the whole edginess and living out the criminal fantasy all just seems so juvenile.
GTA was my favorite series once upon a time. I just don’t love GTA Online as much as the single player games, and it is SOOOOO long between installments that I am just not very excited this time.
I think this is going to be groundbreaking in terms of tech. And hopefully the gameplay is super varied and polished. I'm sure it will be! I can't wait!
Just in time for the Christmas season too. I can't wait for this one especially since it's taking place in Vice City!!!!
Well, this is the first release date. Now just wait for this to come and go and we get a revised date 😉
Waiting for lots of studios to start moving their games, only for GTA6 to be delayed again. Let the hijinx begin!
Should be very good hopefully it's not buggy

It's fairly well known that Rockstar, for whatever reason, have never released their games on PC at launch since GTA 3. I don't think anybody was expecting Rockstar to break the trend for GTA 6.
As an Xbox fan, but owner of the main 3 consoles, and 3070ti gaming pc, is it wrong for me to say that this is the first time I've thought of getting the PS5 'Pro', just got this game?
As context, the PS5 hasn't been touched in 18 months...
Don't hate me...
@HonestHick Rockstar doesn't have a deal with Sony, lol. They don't have a deal with anyone. They're Rockstar.
@Romans12 maybe not, rumor has it Sony wants the marketing rights for GTA like they had for COD. Sony wants casual gamers to know PS5 Pro plays GTA best. Rockstar will take a check from Sony cause they’re Rockstar!
"It's official!" Official does not mean on time
