It's always a good day when new games are announced for Xbox Game Pass, and although Microsoft hasn't said anything about it (at the time of writing, at least), it's been confirmed that a new skiing game is joining January's lineup!
This is Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, which is the sequel to the much-loved Lonely Mountains: Downhill - a game that was previously part of the service for some time. It seems the premise is very similar - make your way down a hill as elegantly and quickly as you can without crashing. The unique visual style of the original game clearly remains intact here, and if it's anything like as addictive, we're going to have a lot of fun with this one!
The big feature addition compared to Downhill is that co-op and competitive multiplayer is supported this time, complete with the ability to challenge seven other people over the internet in "breakneck" races. Bring it on, folks!
We're definitely excited to check out Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders when it releases on Tuesday, January 21st as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. You'll find some more details and screenshots for it down below:
"Take a deep breath, count to three, and… go! Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is a game about skiing down gorgeous mountain vistas. Slice through deep snow, skitter over ice lakes, and leap into the air in spectacular jumps, all surrounded by a variety of breathtaking landscapes.
Fancy a challenge? Perform daredevil tricks or try to best your time for a spot on the leaderboard. Or you can take the road less travelled, discovering shortcuts as you explore the slope. Bring friends along for the ride in the new online multiplayer modes, working your way down together as a team or competing in a race to the base."
