Update []: Microsoft has now confirmed that this problem exists, and has deployed a fix that should rectify the issue over the next few hours. Panic over!
"Earlier today, we encountered an issue that incorrectly suspended some Microsoft Rewards accounts. We've deployed a fix, and any affected accounts should be back online in the next several hours. Thank you for your understanding as we address this."
Original Story: A significant number of Xbox users engage with Microsoft Rewards these days, as it's an amazing way to rack up free credit for your Xbox account by playing games and completing basic tasks on a monthly basis.
So, we're willing to bet a few Pure Xbox users have run into an issue where their Microsoft Rewards accounts have been banned (or "suspended") for no apparent reason, as reports of the issue have been widespread on social media.
In other words, this seems to be a glitch that will be rectified ASAP, although Microsoft as a whole doesn't appear to be running at full capacity right now - we believe the Xbox team won't properly return until next Monday, for example.
Regardless of when it gets fixed, you can rest easy that if you've been suspended from Microsoft Rewards over the past 24 hours, you're in the same boat as many other people - and you probably haven't broken any of the rules mentioned!

My wife literally asked me 20 minutes ago if Rewards was working on my app. It is, but not on hers. This would explain it.
This happened to me a few months ago. Luckily, it only lasted six days. Hopefully, it will get reversed like it did for me. Fortunately, it's a new year, so everyone should have a fresh set of streak protection in case it gets reversed.and I know it's not ideal but if your on a high number of days streak you should be kind off protected
what rules are there to break?
My rewards don't seem to be working, or at least I didn't get the "daily streak" points for opening the app on my phone
I doubt it is for no reason. Probably people abusing the system with extra accounts. This is why we can't have nice things.
@Kieduss nope, it's happened to me, I only have one account and don't spam it. None of the listed reasons it could have I've done. Annoying as I have £5 credit to use
I was wondering why I couldn’t redeem points today. Frustrating!
@SodaPop6548 it's just started working for me
Thats no good hopefully Microsoft give out some free reward points to those effected when it is fixed 1000 or so should do🥺
Mine seems okay ...I still am in for a shout for the million
@Ricky-Spanish It's happened to me a couple of times. I don't remember ever getting anything. Only a day or two at the most.
Have multiple user accounts per residence
That seems intentionally alienating.
Literally the only reason I would ever use Bing over other, better search engines. Go ahead Microsoft, shoot yourself in the foot and give me a reason to delete the Bing app.

Earlier today, we encountered an issue that incorrectly suspended some Microsoft Rewards accounts. We've deployed a fix, and any affected accounts should be back online in the next several hours. Thank you for your understanding as we address this.
@Kieduss Blatantly incorrect. I have one account, only earn points from my Xbox and the app, and haven’t abused a damn thing. My account got suspended sometime between yesterday afternoon and this morning.
I suggest not making sweeping generalizations in the future. You’ll look less foolish.
@Lucylu1983 Looks like mine is back up and running now. Thanks for that info!
Per residence? Isn't that like every family?
I haven't checked mine yet, but I'm nervous. I always have two accounts. One is where I purchase all my games, the second is where I play. That way if I get some creep harassing me I can drop the account without losing all my purchases.
@Kieduss read the various Reddit posts on r/MicrosoftRewards and ask yourself what’s more likely: There’s a bug in the MS Rewards system OR thousands of people decide to simultaneously break the rules before logging into Reddit to lie about it?
Meh. I never use rewards anyway. No biggie.
@Kieduss people like you, who jump to absurd, borderline conspiratorial conclusions based on no evidence at all with the smugness of an expert, and on top of that spew out generalized judgements on a whole group of people, are actually why we can't have nice things.
Didn’t get banned luckily, but my monthly $10 auto redeem didn’t redeem until a random time in the afternoon on Friday the 3rd. Normally it’s midnight or so on the 1st I think…
That makes absolutely no sense but carry on.
I don't know what the problem is, but I think it might be the old rewards app, that was recently made useless since the functionality was moved into the dashboard. Perhaps if anyone tried to use the older app, it triggered an automatic ban.
It's always such a mess with people getting banned on a hair trigger. Having nerfed the rewards constantly for years now I'm earning almost nothing.
There's people who've put a lot of time into saving enough to buy consoles, etc. with their points, and since the vouchers you get expire after a couple months you can't cash out, and always run the risk of losing hundreds of pounds on a whim.
Thankfully I had just enough for a £5 voucher which I've cashed in in case I get locked out again.
