Update []: Microsoft has now confirmed that all of these will leave the cloud as well (the table has been updated below), along with revealing a few extra Game Pass additions for January 8-14:
Original Story: Microsoft has now revealed the first batch of games leaving Xbox Game Pass in the middle of January, and we have six titles in total exiting the service in a few weeks.
The two biggest leavers here are probably Capcom's Exoprimal and online shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm; the latter of which will be a big miss considering we deemed it one of the best FPS titles in the library.
Here's the full list of games leaving Xbox Game Pass in early January 2025:
Date | Game | Platform |
January 15 | Common'hood | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Escape Academy | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Exoprimal | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Figment: Journey into the Mind | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Insurgency: Sandstorm | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 15 | Those Who Remain | Console, PC, Cloud |
As ever, you can get at least 20% off these Xbox Game Pass titles before they leave the library - with some often having even higher discounts as part of Microsoft's regular sales promotions. If you want to keep any of these games, it's worth checking your console before they leave to see what sales are ongoing!
We're still waiting on our first Game Pass update for 2025, but we still have a good selection of games confirmed for this year - including a batch of titles already confirmed for January.
Any of these you're going to miss? Talk to us about this list down below.

Darn. I was hoping they’d announce for the whole month again like in December. Two weeks isn’t much notice.
Not a huge loss for me but I will finish up Escape Academy before it goes….
Escape Academy was brilliant, lighthearted fun. It's a short game you still have time.
Figment 2 was way better then Figment. Both are easy achievement games but Figment gets tedious at times.
I remember when I was so ridiculously stoked for Exoprimal to come out. Then I played it. Fast forward to reading this article and honestly I don't think I've even thought about it since until just now. Such a shame.
Persona 3 reloadat leave next month early. Catch time to play!
@swedetrap it was my favourite game of the year (2024). It's a shame they stopped supporting it. It had a lot of potential to carry on
