Things might have quietened down when it comes to Xbox Game Pass additions and even just new Xbox releases over the past couple of weeks, but there are a whole bunch of free goodies that are well worth checking out this Christmas!

Let's start with the "free" new games. In addition to the EA giveaways that are going on until December 26th, we've also seen some additions to the free-to-play category with the likes of UFL (a new football / soccer game), Marvel Rivals, Maximum Football and a few new modes in Fortnite! Here's a list of what we've come across:

In terms of free demos, we've already mentioned the massive Xbox Winter Demo Fest event that's ongoing until the end of 2024, and since then, new demos have also been added for Slitterhead, Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream and the new Bandai Namco release of Fantasian Neo Dimension, all of which are worth checking out!

As for free trials, Amazon's New World: Aeternum RPG has received a four-hour trial for everyone on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and progress transfers over to the main game (which is part of the Xbox Countdown Sale 2024).

And finally, we wanted to bring your attention to another free trial for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play members, which is for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Now, anyone who's subscribed to those services can check out five hours of the game for free, and don't forget the full version is also part of the Xbox Countdown Sale 2024!

We're constantly seeing free content arriving on the Xbox Store on a weekly basis, so it's always worth checking to see if anything new has popped up! There's more than enough here to keep us busy into 2025 rolls around...
