We've got a busy week ahead of us in Xbox land, especially considering Indiana Jones and the Great Circle arrives in early access this Friday - but if you're not interested in buying (or subscribing to) these new games, you might be interested in two huge free-to-play releases that are both arriving later this week as well!
The first of these, as you can see in the image above, is Marvel Rivals. This is an Overwatch-style PvP shooter that received good impressions during its closed beta earlier in the year, so here's hoping the full launch fares well too!
The next one is a game that we highlighted here at Pure Xbox a few days ago - UFL. It's been years since we've had a proper competitor to EA Sports FC and eFootball, but that's what we're getting with UFL in a few days' time.
Those are the two, but what's this third game we're on about? Well, Path of Exile 2 is also launching in early access this week for those who are willing to pay for it, but it will be going free-to-play in the future when it gets a 1.0 launch.
The official FAQ says that early access will last for at least six months, so we're looking at mid-2025 before Path of Exile 2 potentially goes free-to-play. In the meantime, you can pick it up starting at £24.99 / $29.99 on the Xbox Store.
That one's definitely worth keeping in mind, so we'll lump it in with Marvel Rivals and UFL in our roundup below:
UFL (December 5)
UFL is a free-to-play competitive football game that provides an exciting and fair sports gaming experience.
Marvel Rivals (December 6)
Marvel Rivals is a Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter! Assemble an all-star Marvel squad, devise countless strategies by combining powers to form unique Team-Up skills and fight in destructible, ever-changing battlefields across the continually evolving Marvel universe!
Path of Exile 2 (Paid Release Dec. 6, Free-To-Play Later)
Path of Exile 2 is a next generation free-to-play Action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, featuring co-op for up to six players. Set years after the original Path of Exile, you will return to the dark world of Wraeclast and seek to end the corruption that is spreading.

I am really looking forward to Path of Exile 2 early access. I have waited the whole year for this & I cant wait to get in on the ground floor. Yes it will be f2p eventually but being there as soon as its available is worth the small entry fee, at least to me.
Oh & eventually f2p means early access will take as long as needed but GGG expect it to be at least 6 months before the 1.0 f2p is released.

How long is Early Access likely to run for?
As long as needed, we expect at least 6 months).
@LonR they have made no attempt to hide this & have been very open that this is an early access beta in the true sense. Things will break, nerfs, buffs and adjustments will be made.
Everyone who paid should be aware of that & will be going in with open eyes. The great thing is this is entirely optional & you can just wait till it hits 1.0 if its not your thing.
Excited to try out Marvel Rivals. I said months ago that it was going to outshine Hypercharged Unboxed but that game has already fallen into obscurity. Why they thought releasing a Xbox port without the backing of gamepass was a good idea I'll never understand. Initial sales were good but since then it's playerbase has fallen off steeply just like it did on PC and Switch because there isn't enough substance there to keep people engaged.
I'm really excited try marvel. If destructable environments are done great, I'm sold.
Finally a game I'm actually excited to try. One out of three's not too bad
I'm genuinely excited to play Indiana Jones and the great circle. I've always been a fan on Bethesda and specifically Machine Games. Wolfenstein: New Order was fantastic blend of 1st person shooting action with compelling storytelling and great world building.
If they can make Indiana Jones and the great circle as well as they made Wolfenstein New Order I think we're in for a treat. Just one more reason I love my Xbox Series X and gamepass ultimate subscription lol.
@LonR you don't have to pay
😴😴... Huh was I not supposed to fall asleep? Sony & Xbox be putting games they THINK people will play or games nobody wants, so what it's Marvel, from what I seen before, it shoulda stayed a mobile game, Path of Exiles looks so repetitive, it look more repetitive then a fighting game. Where's the games like Persona, bring those back 4 & 5 shoulda never left gamepass, NBA 2K25 would be huge, Madden, plenty a play those, I can careless for Madden but I know that it would be huge on Gamepass, all the good games on GamePass I already own, like Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham Knight, Shadow of War etc. BG3 can get more players if they do a discount or especially if they put it on Gamepass but they never will. Unless it's 2K 25 or Persona or Bloomtown, or State of Decay 3, don't wake me Microsoft, I'm sleeping
