Two Huge Free-To-Play Games Are Releasing On Xbox Next Week

We've got a busy week ahead of us in Xbox land, especially considering Indiana Jones and the Great Circle arrives in early access this Friday - but if you're not interested in buying (or subscribing to) these new games, you might be interested in two huge free-to-play releases that are both arriving later this week as well!

The first of these, as you can see in the image above, is Marvel Rivals. This is an Overwatch-style PvP shooter that received good impressions during its closed beta earlier in the year, so here's hoping the full launch fares well too!

The next one is a game that we highlighted here at Pure Xbox a few days ago - UFL. It's been years since we've had a proper competitor to EA Sports FC and eFootball, but that's what we're getting with UFL in a few days' time.

Those are the two, but what's this third game we're on about? Well, Path of Exile 2 is also launching in early access this week for those who are willing to pay for it, but it will be going free-to-play in the future when it gets a 1.0 launch.

The official FAQ says that early access will last for at least six months, so we're looking at mid-2025 before Path of Exile 2 potentially goes free-to-play. In the meantime, you can pick it up starting at £24.99 / $29.99 on the Xbox Store.

That one's definitely worth keeping in mind, so we'll lump it in with Marvel Rivals and UFL in our roundup below:

UFL (December 5)

UFL is a free-to-play competitive football game that provides an exciting and fair sports gaming experience.

Marvel Rivals (December 6)

Marvel Rivals is a Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter! Assemble an all-star Marvel squad, devise countless strategies by combining powers to form unique Team-Up skills and fight in destructible, ever-changing battlefields across the continually evolving Marvel universe!

Path of Exile 2 (Paid Release Dec. 6, Free-To-Play Later)

Path of Exile 2 is a next generation free-to-play Action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, featuring co-op for up to six players. Set years after the original Path of Exile, you will return to the dark world of Wraeclast and seek to end the corruption that is spreading.
