Update []: The first Xbox Game Pass leavers of early January 2025 have now been revealed, and we'll be updating the table below with confirmations throughout the rest of the month.
Original Story: What's leaving Xbox Game Pass in January 2025? Well, Microsoft hasn't confirmed anything just yet, but based on some games that were added to the service this time last year, we can at least make a few predictions ahead of time.
We know that a lot of Xbox users want more advance notice of games leaving Xbox Game Pass, but Microsoft usually gives us around two weeks right now - and don't forget, publishers sometimes secure late deals with Microsoft to keep their games on Game Pass, even after they've been announced to be leaving!
So, before we take a look at the following list of potential games leaving Xbox Game Pass in January 2025, we want to stress that nothing has been confirmed yet, and this will not be a 100% accurate list by any means. Some of these games might leave, some of these games might stay, and many others might be added to the list.
The most common (but definitely not the only) trend with Xbox Game Pass seems to be that games stick around for one year, so we've gone back to January 2024 to look at the games that were added to Game Pass at the time. That said, we've also added a few games from the January 2023 list as well. Based on those original announcements, here's what we think could potentially leave Xbox Game Pass in January 2025:
Date It Joined Xbox Game Pass | Game | Platform |
January 20, 2023 | Monster Hunter Rise | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 30, 2023 | Roboquest | Console |
January 4, 2024 | Hell Let Loose | Series X/S, PC, Cloud |
January 9, 2024 | Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Seems unlikely?) | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 9, 2024 | Console, PC, Cloud
January 11, 2024 | We Happy Few (Seems unlikely?) | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 16, 2024 | Resident Evil 2 | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 16, 2024 | Console, PC, Cloud
January 18, 2024 | Turnip Boy Robs A Bank | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 19, 2024 | Palworld | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 25, 2024 | Go Mecha Ball | Console, PC, Cloud |
January 30, 2024 | Brotato | Console, PC, Cloud |
As usual, there could be plenty of additions to this list, and a few of these games might stick around for Xbox Game Pass for even longer, but it seems likely that we'll lose at least some of these in January 2025. Our predictions usually turn out to be anywhere from 30%-80% correct - you never know how accurate they'll be!
Don't forget we've still got more additions heading to Xbox Game Pass in December 2024 as well, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Monday, while various titles will be leaving before the end of the month too.
Which of these games do you think will leave Xbox Game Pass in January 2025? Tell us down below.

Wouldn't be surprised to see P3 Reload leave the service. I believe January was when it was added, so leaving after 12 months would add up.
Need to get back to Resi 2 to do the second campaign then. Been meaning to but so many games to play.....
Not Resident Evil 2... That's a shame.
Have to play resident evil 2&3 I bought them ages ago but kept playing other games they are both pretty amazing looking games for the age of them also have Ray tracing on series s which is very rare!
Nothing for me. Perfect.
Persona 3 reloaded will almost certainly be leaving in January or February. Any games that are multiplayer are usually a preference to stay on game pass. Recently it seems they are dropping games that are under preforming, at least that is what it seems like.
Agreed with others saying Persona 3 will probably leave. Most ATLUS titles only stay on GamePass for a year. Although it released at the start of February, which is probably why it isn't on this list. I'd be happy to be wrong tho as it's a great game.
In the case of Valhalla, does it seem “unlikely” it will leave next month or that it will leave altogether? I’d like to play it, but since this will takes months and months I want to be sure it will stay on long enough.
We Happy Few is owned by Microsoft, it won't leave Game Pass.
"We know that a lot of Xbox users want more advance notice of games leaving Xbox Game Pass"
Absolutely, positively, undeniably, totally, completely! At MINIMUM, it should be at least 2 months notice. It's like Microsoft and developer not already know when a game is leaving. Why not inform us as well???
@Banjo- Kinda remember it did before? I could be wrong.
