It's no secret at this point that Stalker 2 has shipped with a large number of bugs across Xbox and PC, and one of the issues that we've seen discussed a lot so far relates to "stick drift" when using a controller.
If you're running into this issue, where it feels like the camera is moving erratically and even without your input, you're not alone. We'll have to wait for a patch for a proper resolution, but players have been sharing tips for it in the interim.
Firstly, there is a bug that relates to an NPC in the tutorial area. If you get this bug, you'll notice that your camera keeps pointing towards a house no matter what you do - and there is actually a way to fix this by saving the NPC:
For those who are having more general stick drift issues in Stalker 2, there's not a whole lot that can be done right now because you can't adjust the deadzone. That said, we're still seeing some suggestions - such as this one:
Don't forget the Xbox Accessories App allows you to customise various elements of your Xbox controller on console, although based on our initial testing with this, we still haven't been able to properly eliminate the stick drift issue.
There's one other thing you can do - play with a mouse and keyboard. Stalker 2 is fully equipped for mouse and keyboard play on Xbox, and some of us have actually been using this as our main control method so far!
Obviously we're expecting stick drift to be fixed permanently in the near future, with GSC Game World confirming that hotfixes and larger updates are already in the works. For now though, we'll have to wrestle with this issue a bit longer.
