We're now just a month away from the highly-anticipated release of Stalker 2 on Xbox Game Pass, and as we approach its November 20th release date, Xbox and GSC Game World have unveiled a feature-length documentary about it.

With the dev team being based in Ukraine, much has been said about the difficulties they've faced throughout Stalker 2's journey, and this new documentary is described as being "one of the most heart-wrenching 'making-of' films ever made".

Here's a bit more information about the documentary, which you can watch up above:

"This feature-length documentary offers an in-depth look at the emotional journey of GSC Game World, a Ukrainian video game developer with nearly 500 employees, as they navigate the challenges of developing the highly anticipated sequel to their 2007 first-person survival shooter, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., amidst the outbreak of the full-fledged war in Ukraine. What started as an ambitious project evolved into a deeply personal and historical endeavor, forged in the most unimaginable circumstances."

"Created in partnership with Xbox and directed by Andrew Stephan (Power On: The Story of Xbox), this is one of the most heart-wrenching "making-of" films ever made. It tells the true stories of real people faced with the realities of war on their doorstep."

As mentioned there, the director behind this Stalker 2 film previously worked on the excellent "Power On: The Story of Xbox" documentary, which was released back in 2021 to celebrate 20 years of the Xbox brand.

It's quite amazing that Stalker 2 is almost ready to launch, and we're pleased to say we had a great time with it at Summer Game Fest a few months ago. It's been slightly delayed since then, but we'll still throw our preview below:
