Woah, this isn't something we expected to see logging on this morning! As part of a recent 343 Industries livestream, the team has revealed that third-person mode is coming to Halo Infinite this November!
Yep, a full three years on from release, third-person gameplay feels like a pretty major feature to be adding to Infinite - especially when we thought those sort of updates were all-but wrapped up nowadays! Anyway, the team has dropped a work-in-progress clip of this in action - we'll throw that down below.
Given the nature of this clip, and 343's history with sticking to multiplayer updates for Halo Infinite, we'd assume that this feature won't transfer over to campaign - which probably makes sense given that you're supposed to be stepping into the shoes of Master Chief for the game's story mode. Either way, it's a very cool addition to the multiplayer suite that we never expected to see!
Back in July, the team dropped its 'Operation Fleetcom' update as it continues to bring new content to Halo Infinite - even if the game doesn't do full-on seasons anymore. Third-person mode for Halo Infinite is set to arrive in November 2024.
