Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is about to make its big bombastic debut on Xbox Game Pass in just a few short weeks here, and ahead of that huge launch, the team at Treyarch has thrown together a 'Story So Far' trailer to catch you up on the story of Black Ops.
As usual, we've thrown this trailer up above for you to feast your eyes on. The Call of Duty team says that this is the first section of a two-part series leading up to the Black Ops 6 launch - and here's how part one is introduced:
"To prepare for the October 25 launch of Black Ops 6, we’re taking a deeper look at the major characters and story beats in the Black Ops series. In this first of a two-part blog, we start from the beginning with a recap of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops plus important narrative from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Black Ops II."
If you'd like a bit more detail on the history of Black Ops than this short two-minute trailer provides, the part one blog post is also worth a good read. It further breaks down a bunch of what's been happening in the Black Ops universe prior to Black Ops 6's arrival later this month.
That arrival, of course, goes down on October 25th - when the famous FPS series makes its first-ever day one launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you want to see what else is coming to the library this year, you can have a good old look at our 2024 Game Pass guide down below.

Shooty shooty bang bang not really much to it 🥴
Would have made more sense for them to drop BOI, BOII, and BOCW on GP back in September so people could play through the story for themselves
Microsoft have owned Activision for a year now (deal closed Oct 13 2023) why have we only seen the last COD: Black Ops game so far?
What'd also have been nice is to see all the old games put on GP by now. I hope they're waiting until this one has been released so as to maybe not cannibalise players???
They're already available digitally and compatible so I don't see any major roadblock there besides a business reason.
