(Update): We have been informed by Xbox that 33 Immortals' Game Pass launch date is not January 25th and was was posted in error by Microsoft. The 33 Immortals team is still figuring out its release date, but the rest of the roadmap is accurate at the time of writing.
(Original story): As you probably know, we're always keeping a very close eye on Xbox Game Pass announcements here at Pure Xbox, and we're actually a bit confused by a new roadmap of titles that's been posted on Xbox's social media accounts.
The confusing part is that Xbox is only picking out a small number of Game Pass titles to highlight, which suggests at first glance that there's nothing else to come (but that's obviously not the case). Nevertheless, there are plenty of big upcoming games mentioned in here, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Stalker 2.
Here's a look at all the images stitched together, as shared by Klobrille on Twitter:
- Frostpunk 2 for PC (September 20)
- Ara: History Untold for PC (September 24)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (October 25)
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (November 19)
- Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl (November 20)
- The Alters (TBD 2024)
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (December 9)
- 33 Immortals
(January 25, 2025)TBD - Avowed (February 18, 2025)
The big takeaway here for us is that 33 Immortals has been pushed to 2025 and now has a set date of January 25th for the Game Preview version. We knew about everything else already, but it's still nice to see them laid out like this.
Beyond the games mentioned here, there's plenty of stuff lined up for 2024 and 2025 on Xbox Game Pass, and we've got massive guides to both years elsewhere on Pure Xbox. All we need now are some more official release dates!
Looking forward to any of these Xbox Game Pass titles in particular? Tell us in the comments below.

One game a month, not too bad. Stalker 2 is the most interesting for me. Indiana Jones might be alright hopefully. Avowed is 30fps.
Should really say GP Ultimate next to the first party games on there. I could see some moron filing a case for false advertising cos they aren't in standard.
Realistically there are only 3 games I would actually purchase from this group, however at $90 CAD each that's still a savings of $270 minus the monthly Game Pass Ultimate subscription fee.
So only Stalker 2 for me out of those. Day 1 gamepass is really starting to lose its shine.
MS has always been terrible at PR. Its almost laughable now. Good to see some announcements though.
Stalker 2 and 33 immortals I’m looking forward to. Great start to 2025. I’ll pay cod. Interested to see how alters turns out
Good thing this isn’t why I have game pass… Looking forward to avowed tho, and hopeful for Indy, even tho I didn’t like wolfenstein. Stalker might be cool too. The first was good in like 2009 or something
Would be excited about ara and frostpunk, but I don’t have a pc.
@Cakefish you really gonna avoid a game because it’s 30 fps? I’ve played pc games on a crappy rig at like 15 fps.
@jesse_dylan It makes me less likely to play a game for sure - I still haven’t played Hellblade II because of the 30fps cap for example, it’s been deprioritised in my backlog. I played Plague Tale Requiem on PC specifically because of the 30fps cap on XSX (this was before a 60fps mode was patched in).
@Cakefish I guess we all have different priorities. I sure wouldn’t let that stop me from playing a game I wanted to play otherwise. But I also don’t really care what the frame rate is, as long as it’s responsive (if it’s an action game). I was around for the early days of 3D. Mario 64 and Zelda ocarina were definitely not 60 fps 😝
Happy about Black Ops 6 being on day one. To be honest I wasn’t going to buy it but definitely up for playing it with it being on Game Pass.
Looks great.
But unless the top ones are top AAA
Stalker 2
Indy
Avowed
Then it ends up like 2023, so much potential but sort of above average.
Sort of so near yet so far.
@jesse_dylan Depends on the platform for me. I can accept 30fps on Switch because it’s portable and old (though I’m craving Switch 2 for better performance!). XSX is capable of so much more than 30fps, so that’s why I get dismayed when devs don’t tap into that capability and provide players with options.
So only Indiana Jones and Avowed, and I'm expected to pay for a year for this, no thank's.
No love for Flight Sim 2024? Absolutely my most anticipated game this year - especially after the previews the other day.
It's actually a shame for me that Stalker 2 drops so close, but they should compliment each other nicely.
"For pc" is the bane of my Gamepass existence.
Some potentially great games there, hope they can deliver!
Stalker 2 is my most anticipated out of all of them! I've been counting down the days on this game since it was first announced which was quite a while ago but due to the circumstances they are under I completely understand.I'm super bummed about ara only being PC.when I saw the trailer I didn't even notice it wasn't for console.well I'm happy others will get to enjoy it and hopefully it will make it's way to console one day. Also avowed another many are waiting for including myself have I've never dived into the pillars universe because I just can't do top down games. But I am trying to brush up on the lore. But I think 33 immortals looks really interested and Is the wild card.can't wait to try it.
Indiana Jones looks good and so does stalker 2 as well can't wait now avowed I'll give a miss 30 fps on the xbox series x is a joke what the heck are the developers thinking? no way am I playing that game shame I was looking forward to it as well
@Cakefish 4K and 60fps was way too ambitious for this generation, whether ps5 or xsx.
@jesse_dylan avowed and hellblade don't need 4k but there should be 60fps performance modes available on the series x like there is on PlayStation 1st party games
@Dan1283 probably, but personally, I don’t see it as the dealbreaker some seem to. I don’t think performance modes are as simple as people assume either. You’re saying you won’t play avowed because it’s 30fps, but you also say it doesn’t need it. Kind of either seems like you weren’t interested anyway, or you’re making this a grand standing issue. Which, ok, but like I said, just seems weird to me.
@The_DuckWitch they do have other games on there and coming, you know, not just first party stuff…
@jesse_dylan I'm not slating other people's opinion everyone has a right to different ones and I also have a series x no I'm not playing games anymore at 30fps I can't ever go back to that now but I'm just disappointed in that every game should have a performance mode option
33 Immortals is really fun, cant wait to play it for an extended amount of time with friends!
If you'd shown me this 2 years ago for end of 2022 and early 2023 I would have been excited. But I'm over waiting for games on Xbox. If they review well and are good games I'll play them that's it. Same for PlayStation the waiting game has been stretched out a bit too long this generation for any actually new video games.
@jesse_dylan Mario 64 was 30fps. Zelda OOT is well known to have a paltry 20fps. They were also designed around those limitations. (Button inputs register as if the game was running at 60fps, it's why they are popular with speedrunning.)
Most modern games target 60-120 then scale back if it's proving difficult. That's in contrast to old Nintendo, squeezing everything out of that days hardware.
@themcnoisy indeed! Similarly, games like starfield and avowed are designed around 30fps as well, much to the chagrin of many whose religious doctrine states all games must run at 60fps… Maybe someone will buy the ps5 pros after all.
That said, and just me personally, but I don’t think Mario 64 and ocarina quite hold up, and maybe the fps does have something to do with it (or not!)
Thoroughly enjoyed many a 30fps game and even opted for that on Spider-Man 2 as the 60fps mode had less going on in the world. 1 thing is certain is that Hellblade 2 does not need it (I even heard it runs at 24fps to be more cinematic but I can't recall the source.)
I did recently play all of Control and switched between the modes to see the difference, and that one definitely needed 60. I can live without ray tracing.
@jesse_dylan The 4K/120Hz advertising was misleading for sure. 1080p 60fps is my expectation this generation for XSX. Anything less than that is disappointing for me. I’d take 720p over 30fps any day of the week though!
@Dan1283 I completely agree. If PlayStation can offer 60fps modes in their first party games then so should Xbox.
Flight Sim, Indiana Jones and Avowed for me. Might give COD and Stalker 2 a try as well
@Cakefish the super nes advertised 256 on-screen colors from a palette of whatever, but I’m not aware of many games that actually used 256 on-screen colors. I know it’s not the same, but counting the frames and counting the colors isn’t too different. 😆 just because a thing is capable doesn’t mean the software will support it. I think 60fps 4K is gonna be a next generation thing. It was way too early to start that with ps4 pro and push it for ps5 xbx. And peeps drive themselves nutty expecting it.
