Microsoft is already planning for certain other Halo and Xbox-related anniversaries, but right now, the focus is on the Xbox 360 classic Halo 3: ODST.
Believe it or not, but it's now been 15 years since we dropped into New Mombasa as a rookie on a mission to locate Alpha-Nine. This also includes the debut of the wave-based cooperative mode Firefight. The official Halo social account has taken a moment to celebrate this with an extended clip featuring some gameplay.
If you do want to relive this unique noir-like release, you can check it out in the Halo: Master Chief Collection. It also offers multiplayer support. Although it did things a bit differently, this outing - which was one of Bungie's final Halo games, was generally well-received by fans.
So, happy birthday Halo 3: ODST! Feel free to share your own fond memories of this game in the comments below.

I genuinely just played this for the first time last week, as I’m a relatively new XBox owner and have never played any Halo games before getting my Series X some months back.
I enjoyed the plot structure, and was VERY pleased to see Nathan Fillion in there, as well as Tricia Helfer!
@dskatter Also Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk (Firefly) It was totally different to any Halo game at the time, I really enjoyed it and found it a refreshing change.
Only played this a couple of years ago as part of MCC and loved it. Superb game.
I've played through ODST a number of times, and really, really like it. Indeed, I would suggest that it is probably my favourite of the entire series. I actually played it through with a friend recently (his first time playing it, and my first time playing it in co-op) and it still shines...
Great game from when halo was great loved it back in the day gonna play it again soon 🤌
I had a great time playing this with my son when it first came out. It is one of my favorites.
