Update (Thu 12th Sep, 2024): We've officially got a date for this one now! Planet Coaster 2 will launch for Xbox Series X and S on November 6, 2024, with pre-orders available as of today on the Xbox Store.

The good news is that it's not a full-price release either - it's £39.99 / $49.99 for the standard edition.

Original story (Thu 11th Jul, 2024): It's such a great time to be a fan of rollercoaster games on Xbox right now, and we've got yet another one arriving later this year in the form of Planet Coaster 2, which launches for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in the Autumn of 2024.

The big feature of Planet Coaster 2 compared to the original is the addition of water parks, which allow you to create all kinds of water-based rides and also add things like lifeguards and changing rooms. Here's a bit more about them:

"Planet Coaster 2 provides players with an array of vibrant water attractions to create their very own coaster and water park paradise. Make a splash with guests as they float along lazy rivers, speed down flumes, plunge into wave pools, and ride exhilarating water coasters. Create an authentic water park experience by providing changing rooms, sunbeds, lifeguards, and more."

Beyond that, the game will also include new themes, enhanced building and pathing tools, an enhanced event sequencer tool, and even the ability to share "one-at-a-time" Sandbox levels with friends between platforms.

Planet Coaster 2 has every chance of becoming the best rollercoaster game we've seen on Xbox to date, and we can't wait for it to release later this year! We'll even more details down below, along with a few screenshots.
