Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that it would be hosting a Tokyo Games Show broadcast for the 2024 event, and now Xbox boss Phil Spencer has a short message for fans ahead of the big show.
Posted out to YouTube and available up above, Phil invites "players in Japan, across Asia and around the world" to tune into the team's 2024 TGS broadcast, which goes ahead at 6am ET / 11am BST / 7pm JST on September 26th.
As revealed during the initial announcement in early September, Microsoft will deliver updates from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment and Bethesda during the show next week. Here's a bit more about what to expect:
"We warmly welcome players around the world to tune in as we share content from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and Bethesda. We’ll also showcase an exciting lineup of games from third-party partners primarily based in Japan and across Asia, including games coming to Xbox Game Pass."
With our last Xbox Game Pass update being a bit light, we're definitely intrigued to hear of some fresh announcements in that regard, and of course, you can expect plenty of coverage on the TGS 2024 event here at Pure Xbox.
Tell us if you're heeding Phil's message and tuning in down below!

Very much looking forward to this as, in terms of presentations, Xbox have been knocking it out of the park recently. Now we just have to hope that the games are equally good, come at a regular cadence, and come soon...!
All I want for Christmas is an Xbox hand held...an Xbox hand held..an Xbox hand held....
Games are always a welcome addition ofcourse too.
I just hoping for maybe a FF16 announcement, i know that there has been reports that FF7 remake is not happening yet but a tease about that would be cool. Other than than more games from Japan etc would be more than welcome. Starting to build a JRPG back log.
I think it is most likely that we will see the arrival of new games on Gamepass, specifically Japanese games.
Another PlayStation broadcast for Xbox
I will be tuning in! It's nice that Xbox is showing up at all of these events.
@Agamembar I'd be happy with Pixel Remaster. Shadow dropping on Game Pass would be even better.
Pixel remasters hopefully 🥺
Pixel remasters and Project Diva.🤞
@ParsnipHero Oh yeah, forgot about them but yes that would be great as well.
There is a few games I would like to finally show up on Xbox, if I wasn't collecting them physical on switch the 'The legend of Heroes' games would be welcome. Mostly its seems to be any of the RPGS that skipped Xbox but were on PS and Switch for me.
Don't know why they're bothering. They shut down their only Japanese studio after it made a big hit game and got crucified for it. Japanese people won't forget that since Tango were a beloved studio and Xbox have ruined their only real shot at the Japanese market they've ever had.
I know Tango developers were reaquired but the fact that Xbox shut them down after they released a hit will haunt them forever I'm sure. It goes to show that under Xbox management even making a good game doesn't save you from their stupid leadership.
It's just gonna be a bunch of ports every other system already had. Unless they drop something super random like a Blue Dragon Remake/Remaster this is the part of the show the audience checks their phones.
I guess it’s VII Remake and Pixel Remasters coming. That would be cool.
Okay, this-- THIS. PLEASE. THIS is a good way to market/announce a presence at a showcase.
Aaron Greenberg, PLEASE. Please. Take notes from your own boss on how to do your job. Don't bring out the trumpet and start dancing around when all you have is a toy wagon behind you with trinkets and a minifridge in it.
Just be humble, don't immediately smash your face into the pedal and take off 90MPH into the nearest brick wall. Print out Phil's statement and put it in a picture frame over your desk, Aaron. Please. I know this sounds condescending and I truly don't mean it to be, but this is exactly how showcases and events should be teased and/or announced.
Being humble, quiet, and direct with what to expect will always, always, reign over a sea of airhorns and hype. And if you do have a huge mega announcement at the end or somewhere in the show? Bring out the airhorns after it's over.
@Agamembar same here... Hope ff16 comes to xbox coz the pc requirements are ridiculous and its not worth buying it there... If i'm not able to play at least 1440p/60+ fps i may as well play it on xbox at 30fps on my preferred platform to play that kind of games.
@Pabpictu is Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth on GPU? If not I think thats a pretty safe bet.
They mentioned earlier in the year that we'd see something hardware-wise by the end of the year, but so far nothing. I know their cooking up something but my guess is that we won't see anything concrete until next year. Not that the hardware matters much anymore, but I was curious. I've been enjoying Xbox via cloud and PC as of the past few years, anyhow.
It will be mostly announcements of more Xbox first party titles heading to PS5
The summer showcase had a real lack of Japanese stuff. I was hoping to see that here.
@GADG3Tx87 actually game pass does well in Japan, particularly on pc. Sony is struggling for hardware sales too, not just Xbox; Nintendo is soaking up the market share.
Hi-fi rush was more popular in the west than Japan… But there are plenty of 3rd party Japanese games that are popular in Japan, and even more popular in the west. Things have changed. Western stuff is a lot more popular in Japan now.
Here’s hoping for some square announcements
FFXVI is a given, a this state, and that's good because, while quite imperfect in its form (I did not particularly like the action gameplay it tried, sort of Devil May Cry thing), its story was one of the better this series produced over the years.
I really loved the characters and their quest.
Xbox players have to discover this gem.
Oh, and I would not exclude an FFVII Remake announcement either, cause we know Square Enix did not like the sales numbers, so, more plateforms, more sales.
They are going to update the UI and bring back customization and get rid of all the adverts?
Now its time to go all out with the backlog you guys have now.
With all the games you bought from Rare. You can win allot of Nintendo fans over.
Id like to see more of Perfect, restent state. News about a new Killer Instinct, conquer, banjo etc.
Those are games i really want to see, or even a Killer instinct VS Mortal Kombat would do for me, created by Netherrealm.
"We’ll also showcase an exciting lineup of games from third-party partners primarily based in Japan..."
This is what I want.
Zelda on Xbox?!? Oh wait, Nintendo has an actual strategy and strong leadership that knows how to manage a brand.
@GADG3Tx87 a hit that didnt hit on 3 platforms...
