We've got to admit, we thoroughly enjoyed Xbox's Tokyo Game Show livestream last week. We got tons of great reveals during the broadcast — including a huge shadow drop from publisher Square Enix — and all-in-all it was a well-executed show from Microsoft. And, it looks like we weren't the only ones who enjoyed what we saw either.
Over the weekend, a new clip from the convention's show floor has emerged, where Xbox boss Phil Spencer is seen congratulating Misuzu Araki; the Japanese presenter who hosted Team Green's TGS livestream. Phil tells Araki that she did "an amazing job" on presenting - we'll throw the wholesome clip down below:
It's nice to see some positivity on the TGS show floor, then, especially where Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond are concerned. The pair of Xbox execs haven't had the most positive press as of late, but credit where credit's due, the two of them seem to be looking after their TGS co-workers well here.
If you missed the show itself, we'll drop a bunch of links to the team's biggest TGS announcements down below. Alongside that aforementioned Square Enix drop, we also got some other Xbox Game Pass surprises after a relatively quiet month for the service.
Who else enjoyed Xbox's TGS stream? Tell us how you're feeling about the lineup down in the comments.

It was bad Phil not good at all!
Get lost phil just concentrate on releasing games
Purexbox keeps forgetting they cater to push square lurkers and debbie downers.
Host was great, show however left things to be desired.
Thought the show was decent. Loving playing the Mana games.
Most forgettable xbox show Ive ever seen. They were on a roll with great shows up till this one which litterally had nothing for me. Tbf I already have the FF games elsewhere, so for those that don't I can see that attraction.
Misuzu did a great work. I was really happy when I saw she was presenting the show.
Also liked the show, there was lots of support from Square-Enix, Mana series on Game Pass, and the best part: A new Like a Dragon game.
Was a great show.
@Titntin i did think it was nice to see Xbox spend the money for Japanese voice acting in upcoming games. Such as Indiana Jones. That is something that cost a lot of money and of course time. You would know that better than me of course working with game development. That shows they care about the region and want the best experience for their players there. It’s a region most say MS should just give up on and instead year after year they just make little strides to continue to improve there. The handheld will help more than the console. Overall it was an average show, i agree with you there wasn’t much there for me. But i never been a huge Japan game fan outside of Nintendo.
I for one enjoyed the show, there are many Xboxers , as i like to call them that joined Xbox after Sega went mulitplat, they like me did this to play Sega's Xbox games. As well as many other Japanese games.
For a show aimed at the Japanese market it was a good showcase. and for fans of Japanese games it was cool. m
just cause your not into Japanese games does not make it a bad show.
Not everyone is into constant FPS and multiplayer online Western games.
So well done Xbox for showcasing some cool Japanese games.
@HonestHick Yes agreed mate, it was nice to see them spend localisation efforts for the region, big tick for them on that. Given they usually sell maybe 600 consoles a week there, it does indeed represent a vote of confidence, and indeed respect for the region which I also appreciate.
I did touch on it in my comment, but for those needing some jap style games on the system, this was a good show. Multi plat gamers such as myself will be used to consuming jap rpgs etc on the other platforms, so they were not the pull they may have been for sole Xbox players (Ive played most of the bigger announcements elsewhere, sometimes years ago).
My rating was based on whats left once those titles were stripped out, which is prehaps a little unfair, but the article is after individuals opinions and Im still not convinced on Indy, but Im hoping its better than it looks to me. Even once my series X is sold, Im still kinda rooting for xbox (not MS corp), as this buisness needs good competition.
Xbox keeps smashing it lately 😎 bought the pixel remasters and il give the mana games a go too. Looking forward to the lunar games too glad they coming Xbox my kinda style the OG tune based ones 🤩
Also just at read that nine sols is coming to gamepass 😎 https://www.trueachievements.com/news/nine-sols-announced-for-xbox-game-pass
Depressingly bad
I suppose this is old school mentality, but I think the best hosts more or less blend into the background and let the games do the talking.
@Titntin Yeah makes sense to me, i too own all 3 consoles. So sometimes when a game hit another platform it’s not so exciting for me as it would be for others with 1 or 2 consoles. So I get what you are saying for sure. Yeah i thought you would appreciate the efforts MS has done in Japan on those titles. I surely did and hope others understand the work and cost behind that. It’s more than the average person would think. I know you know this very well. Better than myself even. Well i understand what you mean pulling for Xbox and not MS corp. as a 20 year plus Mac and Apple user i have no love for MS. I mean i want Xbox to be good and around. But if windows went away tomorrow i wouldn’t bat an eye. Hahaha
Aww. I like Sarah bond a little more now. Awkward Phil hehe. They should have said “yoku dekita!”
People were expecting western games at tgs, or what? There were no Japanese games in the summer showcase hardly. Obviously they were gonna be here. Branch out and try something new. That’s what game pass is for.
