Update (Wed 4th Sep, 2024): It's only been a day, but we've already got an update! Developer Jyamma Games has taken to social media to report that Phil Spencer and the team at Xbox have reached out to help resolve the situation, and they're now hopeful that Enotria: The Last Song will release for Xbox ASAP. Phew!

Original story (Tue 3rd Sep, 2024): Oh boy, here we go. Last night, the development team behind the upcoming soulslike Enotria: The Last Song announced that the Xbox version was getting an indefinite delay, and clearly there's a lot of unhappiness surrounding it.

In a message on the game's official website, it was mentioned that "challenges" were delaying the release on Xbox despite the PS5 and PC versions arriving on September 19th. Additional context was provided on social media, where it was explained that Microsoft was "taking months to reply to us when we have the game ready for submission".

"We believe that Xbox is blessed with a huge gaming community and we would love to release Enotria on your platform as fast as possible, as we spent a lot of money and resources to make it happen, but this task is nearly impossible with Microsoft taking months to reply to us when we have the game ready for submission. If you'd like to help please let Xbox know about our situation, if we had a dedicated Xbox account manager help us out this issue would not exist, thank you so much!"

Things got even worse on the game's Discord (as reported by Windows Central), where Jyamma Games CEO Jacky Greco accused Microsoft of not caring about the game or its fanbase ("obviously they don't care about Enotria and they don't care about you"), as well as reiterating that they've been "ignored" for two months.

There's no doubt this isn't a good look for Team Xbox, and we've seen something similar with other titles recently - The Mortuary Assistant and HAAK come to mind. Who knows what's going on here, but here's hoping Microsoft can prevent any more of these situations from occurring in the future.
