In case you missed it, it's now been a year since Bethesda launched Starfield on the Xbox Series X|S. As part of this milestone, it's taken to social media to remind members of Constellation about the first major expansion Shattered Space.
After taking a moment to thank "the millions of players" for playing the game in its first year, it mentioned how it would have more to share about Shattered Space "soon". In the meantime, here's a brief rundown of what you can expect:
- Over 50 new locations to discover and explore across Va'ruun'kai
- New grenades to craft that stem from organic material you gather (and it's gross)
-Formidable new enemies - be on your guard for Redeemed and Vortex Horrors...
- You haven't seen the last of Zealots, Spacers, or the Crimson Fleet... As you explore the planet be on the lookout for those taking advantage of the situation.
Shattered Space was most recently shown at Gamescom 2024, with a preview of the game on Xbox Wire describing it as a "narrative-driven, horror-inflected" expansion.
It apparently "looks and feels" like a "classic Bethesda Game Studios experience" offering something "similar to prior expansions for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series" with a "self-contained story that plays with tone and mechanics that the main game didn't".
In addition to this brief update on Shattered Space, the Starfield account has also shared some special art from a talented illustrator known on social media as 'Freya' of 'PosterPosse'. Here it is in all its glory:
In related news, Bethesda recently added a land vehicle to the game (known as the 'Rev-8') as a free update. You can learn (and see) more in our previous coverage here on Pure Xbox.
