Today's Gamescom Opening Night Live event is officially in the books, and as you can see in the special new graphic above, we've got a much better idea of release dates for various Xbox first-party games in 2024 and 2025!
Well... 2024 at least. The likes of Starfield: Shattered Space and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle can finally be penciled onto the calendar, and both Avowed (which was recently delayed) and Towerborne are now fully launching in 2025 - the latter getting an exclusive PC early access debut in September of this year.
Speaking of 2025, we're keeping a close eye on both Fable and DOOM: The Dark Ages, and we're also hoping that a few surprises may show up - Perfect Dark, Clockwork Revolution and maybe even Everwild (?!) are on our wishlists.
But yeah, this is how things are looking following the big Gamescom event this week, and we're interested to know how you're feeling about the Xbox lineup as things stand. Excited for the rest of 2024? Tell us in the comments.
Which of these games are you most looking forward to? Come and let us know down below!

Some great games but let’s be honest ……. Indy won’t be the last PS5 game at Gamescom from Xbox will it??? I wouldn’t be surprised if 2 or 3 more are announced before the week is out.
Phil Spencer is a liar
Fable is my top game on that list.
Flight Sim 2024 comes in second. I'm rubbish at it but the job features which they added in look to give the game a bit more structure. I'd probably stick with it a bit more.
Avowed and South of Midnight are on the periphery that look alright but I'd probably not commit to playing them unless the really hook me in.
Is the Starfield DLC free to GPU?
These social media graphics are so dull. In the same way that devs release a road map, they don’t interest me or excite me.
Xbox or Microsoft games are definitely slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Being honest they just need to get that big AAA at that level for their games, then for me they will really be a force.
@OldGamer999 No, it was part of that "paid upgrade" that let you play early so it's not part of GPU.
@OldGamer999 No, but you can get a bit of a discount if you are a GPU subscriber.
@abe_hikura
Hang on I paid to play early and own Starfield so I get the DLC for free then, sort of.
All coming to PS5…
Shattered Space will hold me over until Indy. Good!
2025 looks fantastic. Hopefully those four all land next year.
Why do they list DLC as games?
When they all coming to PS5?
Blops 6, Indy, Astro Bot and Avowed will see me through winter.
We live in a curious moment, Playstation is in one of its most complicated years, with difficulties to obtain profits and with almost no firts party games announced.
Xbox is in a moment of huge profits and with the best list of firts party games announced in years, maybe the best it has ever had.
However, 2024 will most likely be remembered as one of the worst years in Xbox's history, with a huge lack of excitement and confidence.
I hope at Microsoft they are discussing this urgently, because the situation among fans is dramatic. And I understand what they're doing, and I think I understand that there may be no alternative for Xbox to be there in the future, but the way they're doing it and the way they're communicating it, they're destroying the brand image along the way.
World of Warcraft and flight sim are my top. Games you can get lost in forever. Everything else looks good and will try on game pass. I’m hoping black ops zombies is great and gets a resurgence from the warzone diehards.
@Pabpictu
Honestly, I don't understand the urgent issue. The drama is difficult to justify for me. I bought an XSX and am very happy with the device. I am also happy with all the games, GamePass, the XB network, etc. The only thing that truly disappointed me this year so far was Hellblade II wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. And maybe the delay of Avowed to next year. But I would rather MS ship a high quality game then a hot mess.
@NeoRatt You are right, Xbox is (or should be) in one of its best moments right now, the amount of firts party games is incredible, far superior to the competition, all day 1 on Gamepass, what we are going to play this year and next year in Series S|X is something that we could not even imagine in the worst moments of Xbox One.
However the communication with the fans is a disaster, the messages are contradictory and the uncertainty is huge, regardless of whether they are doing well or not (I think they are) the damage to the brand is being excessive and the lack of trust to launch the next Xbox I think it's starting to be dangerous.
Playstation is objectively doing much worse, they have almost no firts party games on the horizon, they have a less powerful console, their services don't even come close to what Gamepass offers... however they know how to maintain trust. They may have been abusive with the user and not have such a powerful product, but the message is stable and they invest in marketing as necessary.
So yes, I think Microsoft have an urgent issue to discuss, maybe not so much at the product strategy level, but at the communication and marketing level.
Of but where’s the heavy hitters ? The console built games that create that nostalgic moment how halo and gears captured it
@Pabpictu agree with most of that but source on 'huge profits'?
Can't wait for fable and doom looks ok gonna have to beat the first two dooms before the new one comes out!
@OldGamer999 Starfield first DLC came with the early access bundle so yes you will.
@Th3_Highlander
Cheers for letting me know.
Age of Mythology and Shattered Space have me covered. Time to buy some Game pass cards!
@OldGamer999 You're welcome. I've just looked at the price it's £29.99 or with GP £26.99, so that early access was worth it.
