The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Dev Doesn't Rule Out A Return To Xbox Game Pass

In just a few days time, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will leave Xbox Game Pass, having been on the service for roughly one year since its day one arrival in 2023. Despite us being less than a week away from its departure, the dev team has already opened the door to its potential return one day.

In a statement provided to GameSpot, Gun Media's Wes Keltner discussed the title leaving the Game Pass library and what it means for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre going forward. Keltner was very positive about Xbox Game Pass, going on to say that "maybe we'll enter back into it again" sometime down the road.

"Game Pass is a great program, especially for small teams like ours that are trying to push relatively new genres forward. It removes so many barriers to entry for players, and enables them to sample a variety of games and genres they may otherwise never touch.

We’ve enjoyed our time within the Game Pass ecosystem and who knows, maybe we’ll enter back into it again in the future. Being one of the most popular games in Game Pass this last year and winning the Xbox Excellence Award is usually a good sign that a game will not only return to that program, but also has a strong future full of new content and experiences."

A one-year period for Xbox Game Pass additions is quite common; plenty of games drop out of the service after a year-or-so of being in the library. Only select games return, but you never know, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre could be one of those in the future!

If you don't want to take that risk of waiting for its return, you have roughly six days to get stuck into this multiplayer horror title before it departs Xbox Game Pass. Members can also save at least 20% on purchasing the game outright between now and when it leaves the library on August 15.
