Throughout the last week or so, Obsidian's Avowed has been a massive part of Xbox's presence at the Gamescom 2024 industry event. We saw new gameplay, read some early previews, and learnt about the game's performance targets on Xbox last week. Well, now we've got over an hour's worth of new Avowed footage on the back of Europe's biggest gaming convention.
Up above, you can take a look at one section of Avowed; played through using multiple in-game classes. There's likely to be some crossover from the recent Gamescom footage we've seen with this new video, but this is by far the biggest chunk of Avowed we've locked eyes on so far.

Obsidian is clearly pretty confident with where its upcoming RPG is at right now, despite its recent delay. Initially scheduled to launch late this year, Avowed is now arriving on February 18th, 2025, across Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Of course, being an Xbox first-party release, Avowed is playable day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, although we can't guarantee its arrival date on Xbox Game Pass Standard; a new lower-priced subscription tier which is expected to be out in-full by the time Avowed launches.
Which of these classes do you want to try out in Avowed? Tell us down below!

Wait.....skeletons bleed?
Is the person playing intentionally walking or is the game just that slow?
It's looking very good. I hope to see more of the third person mode at some point.
Now that it got delayed, they should have plenty of time to make it run at 60fps on series x.
@FatalBubbles Depends on who was the one playing. If someone from Obsidian/Xbox, yeah likely slow on purpose. Doing it more for marketing purposes to intentionally get better views at landscapes/areas and also so they don't go through TOO much in an hour.
Until it gets in the hands of a regular gamer that facerolls everything, just remember it's being done like this to market it.
@Elbow I have to say. If the goal was to draw people in, the slowness which with the game plays in the video is a major turnoff for me.
I do like the environmental art/detail. Movement/combat still seems stiff, like when the player character climbed up the root a few minutes in. The combat also seems a little stiff, like there might be input buffers (like when they swung again at the enemy while stepping away at 3:25) but that could've just been the player. I don't want to say anything for certain unless I've actually played it myself.
They definitely need to add more "oomph" to what I think was meant to be that slo-mo kill on that same enemy. A build-up of sound or a satisfying thwack at 3:48 as the enemy hits the floor after that slo-mo kill would add a lot. It's oddly quiet and 'unrewarding' as of right now.
It looks great and I look forward to the 60fps patch on Series X when I will play it.
Looks good, but not convinced knowing Microsoft's track record. Perhaps one day we will be able to play it. We all know everyone who has a PS5 will eventually. Lol.
Once the guns come out and the movement sped up it looked good.
Shall wait for the 60fps patch before indulging and the reviews of course.
I know that game can probably stand on it own. But have they said about recommending playing Pillars of Eternity first to fully understand the universe?
@AverageGamer I read that it takes place after Deadfire, but maybe they want to make it an entry point for new players?

...The fact that this paragraph must exist. Oof.
If you can't answer in 10 words or less "what is Game Pass" the plan and marketing is total fail.
