Rockstar has a bit of a different approach to dealing with Xbox Game Pass than most devs; the company often adds and removes its games from the service in short bursts. We've seen this with the Xbox versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, and the company now looks set to tackle another Game Pass platform in the future.
According to notorious Rockstar reporter Tez2, the famous developer is now "preparing" GTA 5 for a PC Game Pass release. If this happens, it'll be the first time that the PC version has been playable on Microsoft's subscription service.
We don't have a Game Pass release date or window here, or even anymore details beyond the above post, but the insider seems pretty confident about the game's arrival. This news hasn't been confirmed by Xbox or Rockstar yet though, so we'll have to wait and see if it turns out to be true.
The PC version of GTA 5 is now almost 10 years old - having first arrived back in 2015 after both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the famous title. We'll of course bring you the news if we hear about an official announcement for GTA 5 on PC Game Pass.
Do you think this one will happen, PXers? Tell us your thoughts down below.

I'm sure there's at least 10 of the 30-something-million GP subscribers who haven't heard of this game yet will be very excited. 2K isn't a big fan of subscriptions though, they hurt sales too much, the game might drop down to 4th place in the sales charts if this happens.
Of course, historically, 2K only uses Game Pass as a glorified "free play weekend" and takes the game off days to weeks after putting it up, so I'm sure it'll be back to #1 for the next 20 or 30 years soon enough.
Ah good so the free loaders who don't buy the consoles get more stuff off our backs and wallets while we have to wait for all the Activision stuff to sorted for them for it to drop to gamepass it's lovely for them isn't itππ©
@Ricky-Spanish How are they freeloaders if they pay for a subscription service?
@Zenszulu idk man , it seems like fanboying over video game machines will never completely phase out. even though itβs a very outdated mindset to still have π
It's an "endless" game thanks to online, so it makes sense that it continues to sell and push services like Gamepass.
If it has Xbox achievements I would play it again, but I doubt it.
@nomither6 It's nothing to do with fanboyism whatever you play ps Xbox Nintendo you go for it I just don't like games being delayed for console gamepass to suit pc gamepass that all very simple really when you see the original post π we pay for the hardware directly profiting Microsoft so give us priority!
I can't imagine anyone is holding their breath waiting for this release? Mind you, its consistently still selling bucket loads, even though I've no idea who it will be selling to, so what do I know?
Putting such a large game on a renting service for a small period is simply there to harvest some more longer term players rather than add value to the service. It's clearly a strategy that works well though!
