(Update: Tue 6th Aug, 2024): Dragami Games has announced a slight tweak to the release date for Lollipop Chainsaw Remake. The Japan/Asia release date will remain the same as planned, but the game will now release two weeks earlier in America and Europe; on September 12th.
(Original story: Fri 14th Jun, 2024): We've heard a fair bit about the Lollipop Chainsaw remake and it's now been officially confirmed that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be making its way to Xbox Series X|S on September 25th, 2024.
This remastered release of the 2012 Grasshopper title, often described as a "cult classic", is being handled by Dragami Games and is being marketed as the definitive version of the game.
It leaves the story "unchanged" and instead focuses on quality-of-life improvements as well as additional gameplay content. This latest version of the game will also come with an 'Original mode' based on the original game, and 'RePOP mode' featuring less violence and using pop-art damage effects.
Will you be revisiting this one or will it be your first time playing it? Let us know in the comments.

Never had the chance to play this one back in the day. If it's uncensored I might pick it up.
"Marketed as definitive version of the game" - Comes with a reworked soundtrack 🤣🤣
Ahh. The good ol days when games pandered to horny straight males.
Is this getting a physical release or just digital?
I do love a Grasshopper game but this one I missed.
Did they forget to update the graphics before they made the trailer?
@dreadful like Stellar Blade right now.
I wonder if it gets panned for the themes it relies on to be fun. Like most modern games these days. I played it a while ago and it was fairly fun, but I don’t think I’ll play it again.
@dreadful The most rabid fans I've seen of this game have been women. Never did understand this "argument". Women like looking at women just as much as men do. More so, depending on the statistics you look at.
the perfect dark and fable devs have left chat.
@InterceptorAlpha absolutely true.
I played this back in the day and remember it being pretty fun but also really janky. Can’t remember if I ever finished it, won’t be visiting again I don’t think.

Would be fun but my misses wouldn't be happy haha not for me thanks 🧑🌾
@Ricky-Spanish show her you really love it and maybe she'll cosplay as her for you wink wink
@UndyingInsurgent95 i don't think i will.
Looks cool, but I honestly might stick with the original. I know there's not much they can do about it really, but losing the original soundtrack is kind of a dealbreaker to me. That game's main points towards it are its style, and the original soundtrack was a big factor in contributing to that style. With all due respect to the devs, I'm not sure anything they do with the soundtrack on this new version could possibly replace the original for me.
All the Fable detractors probably have this game preordered
I really enjoyed this on 360. Gameplay was simple but fun and James Gunn's writing was superb.
Hail to the queen!
@Zochmenos Subjective comment with zero fandom.
@Zochmenos same channels telling em that Sonic Unleashed was good, ackshoolee
Glad to see this silly game make a comeback. Would like a sequel for it.
@InterceptorAlpha
Yeah my sister doesn't play games too often but she did play this one back in the day. If anything I see it as empowering for women since everyone has to rely on the girl to kick ass, I mean her boyfriend is literally just a useless severed head that is basically an accessory.
@ATaco I read that as your sisters boyfriend is a severed head 😂
Not played this game looks fun will pre order
@Zochmenos It's not objectively terrible. That's your opinion.
It was popular enough at the time to gain a cult following. It didn't disappear as people have been talking about the game ever since and it was one of the most requested backwards compatible games for Xbox that never made it. The characters have been heavily featured via cosplayers at gaming events ever since its release.
And finally, the game has always sold at a high price on eBay for both PS3 and Xbox 360.
@Arcticpandapopz The end of the video says a digital release. I bet Limited Run end up making a physical.
@LuckyKant Thanks, I tend to not watch trailers for games, I know I'm definitely going to get at some point
@Zochmenos For real. I love a game called Ronin, that no one even remembers, and I think one of my favorite reviewers gave it a 4? It looked like an esurance ad, but for whatever reason, it clicked and I found it really satisfying. One of my favorite bands is GWAR. They won't be hitting the rock n roll hall of fame any time soon.
@InterceptorAlpha
My wife of 20 years is still freaking hot, she enjoys watching and looking at beautiful women. She complained constantly when Victoria Secret leaned towards different modelsIt's just how nature made us, we like the shiniest things. Is she jaded, maybe but she will watch cut scenes or gameplay if she thinks the character model is attractive
@Mustoe They've been around since 1985. I'd unironically suggest Violence has Arrived and Battle Maximus as legit great metal albums.
@CallMeDuraSouka My friend Jonah is like that. He's a gold fish!
I hope it turns out well. Not paying $200 for a PS3 copy that's for sure. Not seen a 360 copy yet.
I'm probably going to get the Switch copy oh wait it's LRG isn't it or something else. Whelp PS4 digital it is then for me or Switch digital I don't do Xbox digital. But glad to see this return. Been into the many older hack n slashes/character action games I missed out on.
Gameplay and silly situations yes please.
If some things are altered sure, music I mean I get it but I don't care for most video game OSTs anyways or licensed music at all. I am very picky with old game soundtracks in menus or inventories in the odd modern games not their level/open world OSTs or situations. Even when it came to regional soundtracks in racing games or otherwise didn't care. If they still fit the world/vibe and themes that's fine.
The tone and themes I mean they are silly I don't take them seriously and won't any wanting a more safe game, I'm all for it being as crazy as it used to be that was the point of it's personality or many hack n slashes/character action games is the combat and the silly situations.
@Mustoe I am an old too.
@SuntannedDuck2 I have a physical copy of it on Xbox 360. I bought it new a while back, but I opened it so I could play it. I heard it's worth a good amount of money now.
I played it on X360 and the truth is I thought it was a pretty bad game xD
@Arcticpandapopz in the US there is one up for Series X at $45 through Limited Run Games. Ships in the month of December 2024. No idea for other countries for physical.
@ZYDIO Yeah, definitely hold onto that unless want the money for it.
Nothing wrong with it being opened. I mean a PS3 $200 opened copy as well just in a local game store.
I care to play games not sell them but have a few sealed like Battlefield 3 or Rage 2, probably not worth much now but maybe in the future who knows. That or physical sealed if got digital make sense to not open them of course or find other physical copies instead.
@SuntannedDuck2 Now I wonder what I should do with these sealed Little Samson and Bubble Bobble 2 NES games.
@ZYDIO Ok yeah those are a tougher question to give an answer to.
@SuntannedDuck2 I'm just messing with you, I don't have those. I will be holding on to the Lollipop Chainsaw. I really have no reason to ever sell it. It would have to be worth quite a bit of money for me to part with it for the reason of money.
@ZYDIO Nah I got that. Even if I'm bad at presenting that, not just because of the text tone being conveyed well enough.
Oh for sure for the price no doubt if it gets higher or not on the second hand market will have to wait and see.
Samson is high of course regardless of sealed (which for humour for sure would get people XD) still I think, Bubble Bobble no idea.
@SuntannedDuck2 When I saw the word Samson and high next to each other I thought of the movie Half Baked.
