Elden Ring's DLC Takes #1 Spot In Highest-Rated Xbox Games Of 2024

FromSoft is the Sony exclusive of multiplatform. People just give it a few extra points because of the name.

And DLC is now a game.. good to know

@Lup what are you on about? FromSoft was never Sony exclusive and they've made games for literally every generation of Xbox. And multiple Xbox exclusives at that.

Only time you could have ever called them exclusive was PS1/N64 days. They ever released on Dreamcast.

Even Metal Wolf Chaos was an Xbox exclusive until the XboxOne/PS4 rerelease.

As a matter of fact, Xbox has the most number of original IP exclusives from FromSoft as well.

@OldGamer999 I still remember being absolutely floored by the level of environmental destruction that game had. And the day I bead that final boss was one of my happiest when it comes to gaming.

Also had me learn an unnecessary amount about Minamoto Raikou. Got in trouble at school once looking up information on a computer about him. 😂

It’s a shame would probably really enjoy Elden Ring but they don’t put difficulty levels in and I’ve played their other games and get frustrated.
It’s difficult for difficulties sake.
Give me a medium to easy mode and I will definitely buy the game and the dlc.
Such a waste in my opinion.

The difficulty is by design and plays an integral part of the overall experience. They're not difficult just for the sake of it. Putting in an easy mode whereupon you could just blaze through it would take away what makes these games so compelling. In many ways an easy mode in a From game would be the equivalent of cheating.

@OldGamer999 Yeah I couldn't agree more. The fans will defend the difficulty as they do, but it's always been a real turnoff for me. The entire mentality behind defending the difficulty basically just reminds me of why providing options is such an important thing. Sure they might love the hardcore challenge and repetition in trying to overcome the difficulty, but that is exactly why games have hard modes in the first place, to please that sort of person. Meanwhile offering a medium or easy difficulty opens it up to people who might not enjoy that.

Restricting it to such hard difficulty basically comes off as sort of an elitist situation to me. Forcing people to play their way because they think it's the ultimate way to play video games or something. While that's fine for them there's a good reason why most video games try to provide more accessibility, not everyone is a hardcore gamer, and not everyone is capable of hardcore challenges. I always felt like video games should be enjoyable for anyone, not just the most capable and elite at playing them.
