The Xbox April 2024 update begins rolling out to all users on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC today, and it includes a bunch of new features highlighted by 'Game Hubs' for PC players.
Here's a short overview of the Xbox April 2024 update, with more details available at Xbox Wire:
Xbox April 2024 Update - Console Features
- Discord
"If you’re using Discord Voice on your console, you’ll now be able to hear soundboard audio from others in the channel or call. If you don’t want to hear these sounds, a mute button for soundboard audio can be found in the Discord Voice options: Open the guide and go to Options > Mute soundboard."
- Game Captures
"Do you save your favorite gaming moments as game captures? If you’re using OneDrive to back up your game captures and clips, now, when you upload a game capture, you’ll get a notification on your console letting you know if you’re running low on space."
- New Installation Option
"We’ve added a new control on your consoles so you can block whether users on your device can install or uninstall games and apps. You can enable access restrictions with a “guest pin” and disable these new controls when a game or app install or uninstall happens. Your guest will be prompted for the “guest pin” to complete the activity. To view and adjust the new options, navigate to Settings > System > Access restrictions."
Xbox April 2024 Update - PC Features
- Game Hubs Now Available
"Today, we’re excited to share that all PC players can now enjoy game hubs inside the Xbox app on PC. Navigate to any game in your library or in the sidebar to track your progress, discover the latest content and add-ons, connect and compete with your friends, and get the latest news from developers.
With this official rollout of game hubs to all players on the Xbox app, we’re also bringing back a fan-favorite feature: game captures. Any game clip or screenshots you’ve captured through Game Bar for a specific game will now be displayed in its respective game hub and locally stored on your PC."

- New Game Pass 'What's Happening' Tab (Preview)
"We have started previewing a new sub-navigation experience under the “What’s Happening” section of the Game Pass tab in the Xbox app on PC with a subset of players and with all Xbox Insiders."

Will it give me back my +100 games wishlist? 🥲
Anyone able to answer this question, please?
Month or two ago supposedly an update was released that allowed Xbox controller configuration in the Xbox accessories app.
To this day I do not have that showing. Anyone else have it showing? Not showing?
@Lup Totally agree, no apology or acknowledgement from Microsoft that this happened as well.
What is the point of Discord when Xbox has had voice chat for years? I've never used it to so what are the benefits to using Discord?
@BleedingDreamer I’ve only used it infrequently, but it allows cross-platform chat, whereas the Xbox dashboard only allows chat between players on Xbox (and possibly PC, though I’ve never tried). It’s great if you’re playing something like Rocket League, with some players on Xbox, and on PlayStation, Switch etc.
@ChopperCampbell thank. I have never tried cross play and figured voice chat across the systems would work the same.
@BleedingDreamer You can't get your Microsoft account banned for saying something Microsoft doesn't like. I think party chats are the same way. I think only in game chats are monitored. Plus, I think Discord is multi-platform, so you can communicate with people no matter what they are using.
@ChopperCampbell I just noticed you replied before me.
@GuyinPA75
That the feature that was going to allow configuration of the dead zone so as to offset stick drift?
@GeeForce Yep far as I know. Read about it lot places. Pretty sure was article on it here too. Supposedly out month or so ago. I've yet to see it.
Looks like just you and I are only ones looking for it.
No one else replied yet.
Can we get a feature to delete games we didn’t like and have 5G Score on? That’s all I’ve been asking for since late 360. I’ll gladly take the 5G off my achievement score to have my list narrowed to what i enjoy and plan to play and progress.
I just want more control over my Profile. Achievements and trying game demos is great and all but if i hated it. I want to be able to permanently delete it from my profile to keep my organization in control.
@GuyinPA75 I believe that just now went out to Xbox insiders ( or whatever their Xbox system beta updates program name is). It isn't yet out for all
@BleedingDreamer I use it all the time as I'll be playing a game on my Xbox, and others will be using PC, Playstation, etc. and this way you can use the same voice chat platform without needing to deal with any in-game chat functionality.
@GuyinPA75 I just double-checked when I saw your message. There was no full button reassignment interface as there is for the Elite controller. You can remap the share button and change its behavior, swap sticks & triggers, as well as invert sticks. That's all the app on my machine will allow at the moment.
