We have a couple of new additions to Xbox Game Pass today, including a major JRPG from the team over at Bandai Namco. That'll be Tales of Arise, which caused some confusion last week, but it's available in the library right now!
Here's some more information on that title, along with today's brand-new release in the form of Return to Grace:
Return to Grace (Console, PC, Cloud)
"A daring space archaeologist has just unearthed the ancient resting place of a long lost A.I. god known as Grace. Adventure with various fractured A.I. personalities as you uncover the great mystery of why she was shut down all those years ago."
Tales of Arise (Console, PC, Cloud)
"300 years of tyranny. A mysterious mask. Lost pain and memories. Wield the Blazing Sword and join a mysterious, untouchable girl to fight your oppressors. Experience a tale of liberation, featuring characters with next-gen graphical expressiveness!"

The only reason why I haven't bought Tales of Arise, the complete edition that right now I don't even know which it is, is because of the other games I'm playing, but now another one in my wish list joins Game Pass. I can't complain. I love seeing all the big third parties supporting the Xbox ecosystem. It seems that even Square Enix is coming back. Great times!
Tales of Arise is beyond disappointing, easily the worst of the current Tales games.
I own all of them but PS Premium definitely won this month for JRPGs since you get four Tales games there and one of them is the fan favourite as well.

@Kidfunkadelic83
Probably will yeah, you too man. Lots to get through this year anyway.
Blue Dragon is calling my name.
@ShadowofTwilight I respectfully disagree. I think Gamepass won this month because Persona 3 reload (day one) and Tales of Arise is a better offer and a better combination of JRPG's than Arise and the 3 other Tales from 2004, 2008 and 2015.

As someone who doesn't care about day one offerings, Reload does little for me as I don't like Persona either.
@Foxx_64740 I'm still busy with Persona 5 Tactica but I will play Persona 3 Reload afterwards 👍 and finally Tales of Arise that I almost bought recently. First-party games don't worry me because they don't leave Game Pass.
@ShadowofTwilight Sure. I respect your opinion.
And as someone who doesn't care about games I've already played almost 2 decades ago think otherwise and that's ok for both of us. Different opinions and tastes. By the way, if you haven't played Zestiria, Symphonia and Vesperia I strongly recommend you to do so.
@Banjo- I almost bought it too 😂 I'm having a good time with P3R, such a nice game
@Foxx_64740
Oh I've played all three and adored them all, JRPGs are a genre that I tend to buy at launch now anyways lol.

Arise has a massive issue with damage sponge enemies and a terrible plot imo.
Tales of Arise seems like it nosedives around halfway through both story and gameplay-wise. Saw someone streaming the later bits of it and every enemy was stupidly tanky and gave trash EXP, with Visual Novel levels of dialogue every other room. I wouldn't go as far to say don't try it, but just keep that in mind before you start since RPGs usually have a massive time commitment.
Tried Return to Grace seems like it'll be decent enough and apparently only takes about 3 hours to finish it.
To those complaining about spongy enemies on Arise, couldn't you turn down the difficulty? Spongy enemies and grind concern me, and with Gamepass, a time commitment is not something I seek
Great month as always.
I immediately liked Tales of Arise but that forced side-quest in the beginning is concerning... I also don't like the fact that you don't see the party during exploration. Why is that?
Thoroughly enjoyed Tales of Arise despite what others here have posted - its one of my fave tales games.
It's a good addition for GP imo.
