On the back of Xbox Developer Direct there were rumours that Visions of Mana might be coming to Xbox Game Pass - fuelled by some vague wording on the Xbox website. Well, the team has now come out and confirmed that the Square Enix RPG is not launching on the service.
In a statement provided to Eurogamer, Xbox says that this wording "was an error" and that they "do not have plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time." Here's a bit more from Xbox's response to the false rumour:
"We're aware that Xbox.com included language that indicated Visions of Mana was coming to Xbox Game Pass and can confirm this was an error,
While we are always updating the library and looking for new ways to provide members with value and choice, we do not have plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time."
Despite missing out on a Game Pass launch, Visions of Mana is launching on Xbox platforms on day one - which in itself is a step forward for Square Enix and Microsoft. Last year, the two companies committed to "partner closely" on upcoming Square Enix titles.

I initially misread the headline, thinking it was not launching on xbox, period. Which would have been hilarious 😂
Not even really bothered by it. I plan on buying day 1 anyway.
Did anyone actually think it was coming to Game Pass? Never saw them pushing this, the 'evidence' on a google search result always seemed more user error.

@Kaloudz I really don't know why you keep repeating yourself ,there's been plenty of games from square on xbox over the past few years ,how many of those have you bought ?
@themightyant honestly I kinda assumed it was coming to gamepass. I guess I just got into the habit (which isn't a good habit) of assuming all MS exclusive deals as well as first party meant gamepass. Especially if they had it at a developer direct like that where all the other games were day 1 gamepass.
@Kaloudz you say it every single square post ,was my point ,so square don't ignore xbox ,they just don't put games on there that you want ,that's because they have deals with other platforms ,nothing to do with their relationship, if they had a bad relationship, why publish games on xbox at all, it seems to be the games that are only available on ps,that people are bitter about ,wonder why that is.

Game Pass is the mooooost, incredddddible, deal in gaming. Why isn't this game coming to Game Pass? Guess not usual game offered since not the typical a 8 bit, side scrolling, jumping over lava pits?
