Today marks the arrival of the first proper Palworld update on Xbox, which was pushed out to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles a few hours ago. It's only a small update, but a welcome one nonetheless!
The Palworld team has published some limited patch notes for this Xbox update, which indicate that various known issues should now have been resolved on Xbox and PC Game Pass. There are a few other fixes that have been mentioned such as the compressed sound issue on Xbox, but for whatever reason these aren't detailed in the update.
So, here are the patch notes for today's Xbox update across the Xbox and PC Game Pass versions:
Palworld Xbox Game Pass Update (January 23, 2024) - Patch Notes
(Palworld_EN on Twitter - 4:57AM GMT):
"An update has just been released for the Xbox and Microsoft Store PC versions. Numerous bugs have been fixed, including sound issues."
"[Various other] bugs have been identified in this version and Pocketpair are currently working on a fix. They apologize for inconvenience. There [also] seems to be a unknown bug where Xbox players are being prevented from joining multiplayer sessions."
(Palworld_EN on Twitter - 10:28AM GMT):
"Updates have been released for Xbox and Microsoft Store PC versions. This update fixes some of the previously mentioned issues. The following issues have been fixed:"
Xbox
- When starting the game app, it goes black and cannot proceed further.
Microsoft Store PC version
- When starting the game app, it goes black and cannot proceed further.
- Controller is not recognized
- Key guide display is not displayed correctly
- Exit game button is not implemented
As mentioned earlier this week, you can expect Palworld updates to arrive a little slower on Xbox compared to Steam moving forward, and that's simply because of Microsoft's certification process for approving updates. It sounds like the team is working very hard on improvements though, so any additional bugs should be ironed out shortly.

Didn't even notice these bugs.
The bugs that i had where really small.
My pals in my base are completely bugged where their icons in the HUD are flashing red and they look like they are all having seizures. It prevents them from taking any actions in the base, except they are still getting hungry.
Hoping that this patch has fixed it but won't really know till this evening. It's not fun to play when the base aspect is functionally useless
Patch fixed the sound quite a bit and the performance in bigger areas is way better.
6 million sales + players from Game Pass. Game was a crazy success.
The game hard crashed my console twice so far. Usually you hear a sound after a crash (as you would turning off the console), but the second crash was the first ever to do it without a sound. After turning the Xbox back on, I had a warning screen about overheating.
This game isn't my cup of tea, but from what I've seen, it's a phenomenal experience! Incredibly disgusting that PS players are sending death threats to the devs. I hate this industry and gamers sometimes 🤮
@UndyingInsurgent95 isn’t it Sonys policy that they don’t allow early access games on their system? Where as Xbox does. They should be taking aim at their god emperor if that’s the case.
@UndyingInsurgent95 where has the Sony thing come into it? Everywhere else has reported Pokémon fans?
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Both Pokemon and Sony fans*
Forgot to add the rabid Nintendo crowd lol.
@alpacatears
Was that a bug? Lol i thought i did something wrong. Brought them back in base lol
Those are the patch notes? You would think they would do more considering they basically complained about updates requiring certification a few days ago ...
The game isn't for me but I tried it and they should address the abysmal performance and janky feeling controls
