Original story (Tue 12th Dec, 2023): Bandai Namco has announced a free Tekken 8 demo for current-gen consoles and PC arriving this month, although the majority of platforms will have to wait a little longer to play. Yep, this is another timed PS5 exclusive - Xbox and PC players are made to wait just a bit longer to jump in.
The demo arrives on December 14th for PS5, and then a week later on December 21st for Xbox Series X|S & PC. At least the final release is a simultaneous launch - the full version of Tekken 8 is coming to all platforms on January 26th.
As for what you can expect from next week's Xbox demo, this slice of Tekken 8 sounds pretty meaty - featuring chunks of the game's story, arcade quest, offline versus and gallery modes. It looks like you'll be able to get a good taste of the upcoming fighter ahead of its January launch!

Why is the Xbox getting this a week later? Did Sony pay for early demo access?
Nothing new. Didn't the same happen with SF6? Maybe I'm mixing it with another one.

@eire-shabba I play as many as possible. Trying games before buying them is a pretty cool thing,lol.
Probably has a marketing deal with Playstation. Sony buying Evo they will want marketing deals with all the major fighting game franchises now. This may be part of it.
Definitely wont be paying solely for timed exclusivity of a demo lol even they are not that stupid.
Sony would never pay Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Capcom, Bethesda, Activision or Warner for keeping a game, DLC or a demo away from Xbox...

Console overlord politics aside, people should really try this demo out. Game is shaping up to be amazing.

I'm surprised the full release doesn't have a delay for Xbox.
@Lup Yeah, I think all the Xbox betas and demos were delayed for SF6.
I played the demo and it was pretty good. However Japanese old school 3D fighters like Tekken and Street Fighter don't feel like they are doing enough to move forward with technology or story. I like Mortal Kombat's recent games better
@TheCrafter1578 I rarely spend full price on games I know I like ha sappose demos ain't bad but not as good as back in the day with a gaming mag ha
Best Tekken for years if you like the series. Will be my first day 1 buy since Elden ring.
