Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 has made yet another The Game Awards appearance today, and this year's trailer confirms a 2024 release window! We don't have anything more specific than that we're afraid, but Xbox is bringing Hellblade 2 to Game Pass in 2024.
The new trailer, which we've included up above for your viewing pleasure, contains some lovely new gameplay snippets from Ninja Theory's upcoming adventure. As you can tell, this one still looks epic and we can't wait to play it next year!
Here's a quick breakdown of the trailer - which was completely captured on Xbox Series X:
"The sequel to the award winning Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, sees Senua return in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without."
What do you reckon to this latest look at Hellblade 2? Tell us if you're hyped in the comments section below!

I hope that it's a solid adventure and a showcase for Xbox next year. I still haven't played the first one. Off-topic but Microsoft should have acquired Crystal Dynamics when it was on sale. It's one of the best developers in the world, in my opinion. They are assisting the chaotic The Initiative rebooting Perfect Dark, so why didn't Microsoft acquire them and let Embracer get them?
Graphics look sublime...I hope gameplay improves over the first....I thought the game was fine ...but nowhere near as good as alot of people seemed to find it
Jaw dropping!
Wondering when clockwork and avowed are coming as those have been on the store for wishlist for a long time. Hellblade unfortunately not for me. But got $120 in rewards already for next year
Seriously gorgeous, but I'm a little bit concerned about the flash VS substance. Every time I see this it feels like an abstract painting that someone is trying to pass off as a genuine realism oil painting....
Welp, time to prioritize beating the first game.
This might be my GOTY next year. Looks incredible.
@Banjo-
Total agree with you on crystal dynamics, even two years ago I posted about this, when they first started helping with perfect dark.
Hope the gameplay is better than the first one.
Got bored after a few hours.
@OldGamer999 I have played all the Uncharted games except the Vita one and I think that Crystal Dynamics' games are much better: better gameplay, camera, controls, graphics, sound... Okay, Lara Croft is incoherent, but that's it. Crystal Dynamics also makes a kind of game that is different than what the other Xbox studios do. It was a no-brainer and yet they let it go to Embracer and then hired them. It makes no sense at all.

As always the wonderful common sense of us die hards, fudged yet again.
@StylesT I agree. Found the first pretty annoying although it looked great at the time.
The graphics in that trailer are insane.
Finally a "date" is confirmed and man, it looks brutal. I can see at least a new type of enemy, and a bunch of new moves. Really hyped for this game!
@Banjo-
I agree. I have played all the CD Tomb Raider and Uncharted games. I find the Uncharted games can't keep my attention that long, but once I get into a Tomb Raider game I can't seem to put it down.
I especially like the Tomb Raider bow and stealth over Uncharted. The bow and stealth in Tomb Raider is more free form and you can use many ways to get through those types of levels. Uncharted I found the stealth to be more a trial and error exercise with limited paths to accomplish the same thing in levels. Many of the Uncharted levels requiring stealth had me just wishing they would end so I could get to the next level, whereas in Tomb Raider I found they had me doing a step and calculating how I could do the next step safely.
They really should have dropped a release date or tighter window (ie "Holiday 2024"). Everyone is starting to get trailer fatigue and now just wants to see the game release. The first game was incredible and this looks to be an even better and more improved story and gameplay. I can hardly wait!
Mind ... blown! Can't wait!
I expect a Q4 release...until it's delayed until 2025.
The promise of Hellblade 2 and Starfield were the deciding factors on buying an XBox over a PS5. I enjoyed Starfield. I am excited for Hellblade!
@NeoRatt That's right. The Uncharted games have very rigid and rough gameplay. That's Naughty Dog's trademark because The Last of Us is the same. I almost stopped playing after the first stealth section because it didn't make any sense and I'm not new to stealth games.
The new Tomb Raider games feel much more real and immersive. The graphics are also incredibly good and the camera is easier on the player. My favourite one is Rise of the Tomb Raider. Your insight is spot on, the bow is my favourite weapon.
I'm ready for this love Ninja Theory !
Looking forward to it !
