Baldur's Gate 3 finally arrived on Xbox this month after landing on PlayStation back in September, but as you all will have noticed it didn't launch day one on Game Pass. We weren't necessarily expecting such a huge hit to be a part of the service straight away, however it's probably best not to expect its arrival anytime soon.
Speaking with IGN, Larian's Swen Vincke says that the team always knew Baldur's Gate 3 wouldn't go to Game Pass - they think "there's a fair price to be paid" for what the team's mammoth RPG delivers.
"Oh, we always said from the get-go, it wasn't going to be on Game Pass, it's not going to be on Game Pass,
We made a big game, so I think there's a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay. We don't charge you any micro-transactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront it's a big meaty game. So I think that should be able to exist as it is."
Larian's latest effort has gone down extremely well this year, even if cloud save issues do appear to be plaguing the Xbox release at the time of writing. We haven't run into any of these issues ourselves yet, but there are loads of reports of lost save files and such, so that's something to be aware of right now.
